    @ECT: it was Sustrans - they were there last week as well.

    Spotted Hart of said Cyclery this morning at the Barnton junction. I was quite impressed by the huge basket on the front of the bike. I was however in disguise on the enduro motorbike, which was itself somewhat in disguise in touring mode with all the luggage boxes present.

    Bumped into steveo at lunchtime in the Morrisons on West Granton Road.

    I caught up with Bill on the towpath on the way into town this evening so rode in convoy as far as MMW where our paths diverged.

    ... and jdanielp kindly shepherded me through the King's Theatre junction.

    We also saw another CCE member by the bridge on the eastern side of Harrison Park wearing a white PoP t-shirt.

    On the A9 south of Ballinluig this morning: a chap cycling along the main carriageway. This is actually one of the parts of the A9 route where the cycle alternative isn't too bad, but there's no easy way to learn out of the car and tell him...

    Spotted Van Moof have taken £900 off their electric bike. Motor on front wheel, 32kmh in Manhattan, 25kmh in EU.

    Lights and locks integrated into the frame.

    0km/h in Manhattan, surely?

    @frenchy, just Van Moof advert on Facebook. Six times across Manhattan on one battery charge at 32kmh

    Naughty, naughty.

    Real advantage of the van Moof there is that it's not obviously an e-bike, so you're less likely to get arrested. 32km/h might be enough to outrun the local plod, too. Although it looks weird enough to attract more attention.

    A performer type riding a wooden framed bike with a hobby horse head mounted to the front along NMW around lunchtime. I pulled alongside on MMW to admire it and found out in the process that it's a prop for a Fringe production of Don Quixote...

    2 cycling police officers on St John's Road this morning and then a women wearing a black POP T-shirt heading North on Ladywell Ave - hopefully she & her partner were continuing North to Featherhall Ave where some locals have never seen a cyclist...

    Loads of bikes and cycling signs at the Myreton Motor Museum. Including an Edinburgh Coop bike from the early eighties. Well worth a visit

    fimm on Lower Gilmore Place wearing a stylish hat of a non-helmet variety. gembo on the towpath requesting a gentle high-five which we hopefully achieved; I find judging the impact quite difficult, failing to make contact as often as failing to 'cushion' effectively. neddie or a lookalike on the towpath at Wester Hailes?

    Did not spot jdanielp. There were quite a lot of bikes and other hazards around. That hat is a "washable, squashable" sun hat that my parents brought me from Australia.

    A Surly Ice Cream Truck outside Law Cycles this AM.

    I came over all covetous and was caught fondling it a bit. I would do it again!

    Spotted by @unhurt this morning at the end of West Preston Street.

    I had clocked the loop barred, bikepacking bike, with female rider before I realised she was waving at me...

    Sorry for the delayed reaction!

    I was running late this morning, spotting ARobComp on NMW instead of the towpath as has been more usual lately. I'm not sure if gembo was running late as well, but he exited Slateford Aqueduct while I was waiting at the end, taking advantage of the moment to try and clean my glasses which were steamed up far worse than usual due to the warm rain.

    @jdanielp, that's a good spot. The Premier Inn breakfast should be enough to fuel quite a few miles, and nice to see they are happy for bikes to be stored in your bedroom.

    A chap on an e-cargo bike heading towards Cameron Toll on Old Dalkeith Rd this morning. I assume e-assist anyway cos he kept up a healthy pace and was quicker than my bus. He's the first person I've ever seen use that cycleway bit over the roundabout. And whoosh! he was gone.

    Rack outside Waverley court with one hire bike locked into it. No way to take it out but I put the saddle up to the tenth notch. I find this prevents people cycling with the saddle too low. You see this a lot. Also i trang the bell.

    Missed a high five with gembo as we passed over another on the towpath at Meggetland.

    Lots of police on patrol in the vicinity of the Meadows yesterday evening. I spotted the first pair under the cover of the King's Theatre, seemingly surveying the junction, and several pairs patrolling along NMW and around the NMW/MMW junction as well as a small stand.

    ARobComp on the towpath this morning, which means that I must be back on a more normal schedule. Also Big John, who I stopped to chat to briefly. He says that he is enjoying no longer living in Edinburgh, especially during August.

    A fancy Jaguar sports car.
    Which has been clamped for no tax.

    @Jdanielp Don't use me as a guide for whether you're on time. My commute times vary massively from leaving house at 7:30 to closer to 9. Also if you don't see me it's likely I'm working away and have gone to train station or airport at stupid early in the morning.

    However nice to see you in your waterproof this morning. Necessary up in Colinton but getting a tad warm down in town I thought.

    What on earth were all the police doing? I spotted them all congregated at bottom of MMW around 6:30.

    @Jdanielp spotted me.
    Only slightly less visible than the Kagools in their C5s!
    MMW allowed us to mingle with festival crowds oblivious to the bike lane. I didn't have bell and front light was pointing wrong way I think after one pothole too many.
    @Jd had a bell though.
