@ARobComp thanks for the warning. I won't set my bike computer clock by you... As I descended MMW this morning, moments after beginning my commute, my hands became very cold to the point of being painful, which had just about eased off when I saw you!

@LaidBack I only managed to catch up with you because of the crowds and the vehicle blocking the crossing at the top; my pace up the hill paled to yours on a recumbent.

@jdanielp - Azub Origami has twin bmx wheels with 2.25" Big Apples. Folding model - quite light hardtail. Clever Czech design.
Rear view mirror spurs me on as can see closing traffic behind!

Roads currently closed between Roseburn and Murieston Park for pedestrian access (and coach parking) for today's shoutball match. I was glad to be wearing neutral colours as I made my way to the Sorting Office against the flow of visitors. I can only imagine how rowdy it will be later...

Also saw @morningsider I think yesterday.
Had just given Julie from Marchmont a lift down from Bruntsfield on customer's twin recliner. Was out test riding getting prepped for their next big trip. (States coast to coast).

That reminds me: yesterday I spotted a member of Edinburgh's shadowy cycling lobby cutting their hedge into very neat polyhedra. I was, at the time, engaged in the most suburban of activities: using a special brush to clean the alloy wheels of the family car...

@greenroofer there is a sub landed gentry person out just before Balerno (newmills to be specific, they used to run a word of mouth bed and breakfast in their mansion) they have the gardener or DIY cut the privet into hearts, clubs, aces and spades. Alice in wonderland or bridge players?

Spotted Czech bus towing some sort of big yellow trailer van with something like Cycle Bondo written on the side, going round the roundabout at bottom of Cockburn street. Also in racks outside Waverley Court another hire bike has joined the gang. One high saddle (put back up by me) and one low saddle.

I spotted Mrs Kim heading towards Edinburgh at the Bilston roundabout and I just about managed to keep up as far as the roundabout by Sainsbury's, but Matilda the Elephant Bike spins out at 20mph and Mrs Kim was too fast.

Was that gembo shouting at me this morning? Didn't see, just heard shouts, so could have been someone else shouting at something else.

Mum, dad and children (5 & 8?) walking bikes up Victoria St. on the road.
Using a bike in Edinburgh in the middle of festival not easy.
My take is that they had a camper van and bikes were 'least worst' way to get into and round city.
After squeezing past crowds to Grassmarket I saw them again on foot. Bikes locked to security barriers in High St.

Chrisfl this a.m. On towpath I was coming up from the curious care home. In almost shocking news a tight chicane has been inserted near the care home. Fear ye not, you can get around this particular hurdle.

Not on here much but good to see the spotted thread is still going strong after 8 years!!!

Good to hear from you again @recombodna, the spotted thread that you initiated is part of the 'DNA of this forum. Particularly in the way the virtual became connected to the corporal world. Similarly with the pub meets and the monthly coffee meetings. The low number of rules and the default to humour, well I think it is funny, have also meant things like the three Helmet Wars have been survivable. Good that your alter ego Murray Moves still going strong with the vans and indeed the side line of breaking locks.

    All the best

Aaah. That would explain the strange lemon smell drifting slowly out of it at the bottom.

Presumably Morningsider or SRD on Leamington Walk, but I only caught the flap of a hand as I was watching out for sticks on the path edge.

After getting an update from @piosad in the playgroud, about the lock removing performed by @recombodna - I responded to a splendid "Christopher" shout from @gembo just before the aqueduct.

@moringsider - you dress too well (at least on the bike) for it to be convincing.
