@arobcomp, well yeah, how else would you get into it?

Two small children of single-digit ages, apparently cycling to school on their own this morning. I caught up with them at the bottom of Chalmers Street and followed them onto NMW as far as the crossing over Melville Drive. Whilst this is quite inspirational, I also found it somewhat terrifying. I find joining NMW at that spot somewhat challenging in the morning and I'm tall enough to see a fair distance in both directions as I'm doing so. I would hope that they were heading up towards James Gillespie's Primary since that at least would be almost entirely off road cycling.

Totally failed to exchange a high five with @gembo by the aqueduct in the way home this evening. He was all lined up and everything: I just missed him.

Spotted piosad and we high fived on towpath. Then spotted Greenroofer and we high fived on the towpath, though the luminous green backing on the Greenroofer glove turned into black on the palm so I missed my connection

@greenroofer we posted the same event at the same time with slightly different takes, but that is super OK

He says it was his fault. I say it was my fault. How very gentlemanly.

Gembo, disguised in sunglasses, shaking his head at the carelessness on NMW.

Shortly afterwards, a woman with two pieces of tissue sticking out of her nostrils at the Leamington Walk/Bruntsfield Place lights.

@wingpig, not much of a disguise then....

The lad who battered on in front of you and cutting me right up had looked me right in the sunglassed eyes and battered on regardless.

Meant to say that Inconsiderate Lecky Guy was giving quarter to a pedestrian on the aqueduct the other day. So he is able to discern just chooses not to with fellow cyclists.

Was passed and greeted by @jdanielp on the towpath this evening. I was deep in conversation with Joe, who was describing his recent envy-inducing cycling holiday in the Picos de Europa in Spain.

Prior to greeting Greenroofer I had greeted a regular commuter, who I will name Red Coat, and made my first spot of someone using a 'hoverboard' on the towpath. I then spotted piosad and daughter, and a Just Eat cyclist.

This morning I noticed a scooter in the bike shed at work. This might have happened occasionally before, but it's certainly a rare occurrence. It had integrated lights and everything.

Then a completely different scooter in the bike shed as I was leaving.

@jdanielp - I passed that hoverboard too. I'm not sure I see the point of them really: a bicycle is quicker and more practical for carrying stuff.

Did the commuter you have named 'red coat' previously have a different name? I have noticed that a popular towpath commuter has now changed their outfit entirely so that the name we know them by is no longer relevant.

Passed HankChief on the Helios/ trailer big rig around 9.30am this morning at the MMW/ NMW interchange. Waves were exchanged.

@Greenroofer I'm not aware that he had been named at all. I have been spotting him for at least a couple of years. Which commuter are you referring to? I have been spotting Lilac Helmet Lady fairly regularly again recently; she no longer sports a lilac helmet but her name endures for now.

This is one of the things I love about CCE. I have never met Lilac Helmet Lady, nor does it seem that I ever will recognise her now, but she is surely an honorary CCEer by dint of her legendary appearance.

A genial, chatty fellow, somewhat in his cups, at a bench round about Currie on the WoL yesterday. I paused to chat, since I had stopped anyway to let peds do their thing. He isn't fond of many cyclists - nor runners from what he told me - but I seemed to pass muster. Is he known to this parish?

Saw similar chaps on bench near Currie on WoL Path the other morning having strong cider for breakfast.

police stopped me going that way Friday. had to push up the other ramp.

said there was an 'incident' but nothing obvious to me.

That gate at Waverley really is extra strong.

Did I blank @gembo on the towpath this morning near Kingsknowe Station? I was muttering to myself about an uncontrolled dog at the time.

On the way home I gave way to Lilac Helmet Lady on the aqueduct. She was actually helmetless, but clearly can't stay off the purple, as she was sporting a striking pink jacket.

@greenroofer, came down WoL path and joined at flyover so you did not blank me. I spotted a fellow in a cap but it was not you either.

@ARobComp and his ARobComplement (this didn't catch on last time but I'm sticking with it) asleep in @algo's old trailer in Colinton Village. Stopped for a chinwag and blocked the entire pavement, despite standing in line.

    Active travel, place-making etc.

As mentioned Spotted IWRATS bike outside pantry closely followed by IWRATS himself.

Then spotted lots of roadies heading out for a final hurrah today. I had a lovely day riding around with the sproglette instead.

Spotted by Hankchief. Or at least someone riding his bike who looked like him. But despite the tropical temperatures he wasn't wearing shorts so perhaps it was an imposter.

and @Iwrats, once you get your OTB please can you paint the frame with a wood effect. Then order would appear to be restored.
