A rare double spot of Kenny today on both legs of my wet commute

Twice? My goodness I really need to open my eyes more. I certainly remember the morning one. Strava Flyby is being called up immediately to determine where I missed you upon my return!

    My apologies...

Kenny - No worries. I was emerging from a side road in Corstorphine as you blasted past on the main road. I was also in disguise as a simple tandem with a Brownie on the back, so it is no wonder you didn't spot me ;-)

    Went with the following tatties

    Maris Bard organic first earlies

    And

    red King Edward Main Crop

That is what will go in but given previous years, will be a mixture that comes out (hybrids or just old potatoes as well) mildly entertaining when Howking.

Your Ollie The Pisky Pastor also gave me a sunflower seed. We have a laugh. Today I was comparing him to Alexander Peden, the field preacher who wore a leather mask, you don't wear a leather mask do you Ollie I asked. We laffed.

Failed to spot Gembo at Tattie Day, but I didn't arrive till 11:30. Did spot tatties and left with enough to attempt planting once I have uncovered earth under my decking...

The climbing frame sculpture that resembles a large black spider has mysteriously vanished from the grass by Boroughmuir Plaza. A couple of workmen were shovelling mud in that area as I cycled past into the wind this morning.

I caught them flinging mud out the corner of my eye this morning as well. Was slightly perturbed about what exactly was going on...

My employer appears to be trialling multi storey cycle storage. Not too impressed by it, to be honest.

@Frenchy - could be the wind?

A not-unexpectedly bedraggled Morningsider and micro-Morningsider in ...Morningside... this evening, experiencing the full joys of an active-travel school run in the teeth of Storm Gareth (who was being particularly wet and windy at that point)

I was spotted (not hard, you may say) by a beekeeping colleague, on my way home yesterday.

Riding home today I spotted two of the new big massive Lothian Buses buses with the three axles. Every time I see one I think it ought to have a trolley pole on the top.

E-cyclist wearing a WAYV helmet pulled out in front of me last night and shot off at the horizon like some kind of sci-fi vision.

Man on a bicycle in a racing costume in roseburn Park yesterday lunchtime with a big loop of drool or snot hanging off his face, glinting in the sun as it wobbled in the wind.

Portly young man in very warm clothes flying up Gilmerton Road at about 20mph on an orange Carrera mountain bike. If it wasn't an unrestricted leccy bike that dude is strong.

@gembo on film (Balerno Village Screen posting wee behind the scenes clips on Facebook - I saw pink.)

Careful now unhurt, I did have to go straight to setting up the cinema from an incredibly long leaving do speech. Longest ever. So was still in cycling gear of the pink jersey. Not the cinema gear of the black t shirt.

We had Nathan Collins playing along on the piano to a Charlie Chaplin short. Which was exceptional.

Then a Star is Born which I feel is quite gruelling but was very popular with the Balerno Massive.

Just spotted a RadWagon - an electric longtail bike, a bit like a Yuba Mundo or Xtracycle.

However this one had space frame "rails" over the rear deck, which made it look like it was designed for use with a basket something about the size of a large windowbox on the back!

A further search suggests it was a "Caboose" designed to cage small children, however I confess that I find it difficult to imagine it in use!

Last minute spot of @HankChief this morning, masked first by vehicles and then a bright shiny thing in the sky that made it hard to see.

So there are at least two bikes called Bichael in Edinburgh...

    https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/woman-gets-stolen-bike-back-after-confronting-teen-at-leith-tesco-1-4891225

...or @bill has a double life?

@IWARTS Oh no! I thought Bichael was the only one! Unless it is Bichael who has a double life (the one on the photo looks similar enough)?

Though my Bichael best responds when its name is said in the impression of the voice of Gob Bluth from Arrested Development when saying his brother's name 'Michael'.

The new bike's name is Bicrosoft (full name Bicrosoft Windows).

Recumbent bike with two large blue bags attached to it, heading North along Gilmerton Road yesterday at ~5:15pm.

One of those mini-tractor machines with front ploughing attachment and whirly brush for cutting back the grass on the edges of bike paths. Southern end of MMW getting done.

Really good to see they've invested in such a machine. Let's hope the paths across the entire city get done.

I often find Hankchief's helmet is the first thing I spot. Although now the sun is up at commuter times it does make it harder ;-)

@bill Bicrosoft Windows seems like a questionable name given the likelihood of it crashing?

Would a Unixcycle be more stable?

@jdanielp there are some better versions than the others, so hopefully my release is one of the better ones. For now Mr Bill and I enjoy our running jokes about stability issues, beta testing, updates, bug fixes etc

    @IWRATS haha Unixcycle -- that's clever! :)

@bill watch out for Bicycle Clippy! "It looks like you're riding a bike".

@IWRATS perhaps, but only after the challenge of learning to use it?
