People behind me on way to work today possibly bemused. Did a great slow motion hi 5 with the mighty kaputnik shortly before declaring to a guy I know called Connor Is it really you Clive? (I maintain he looks like the actor Clive Owen, he accepts this). Think also old Wilmington on the innocent, running to work?

Pretty sure that was @EdinburghCycleCam I saw heading up Gilmerton Road last night, as I was going the other way.

Quite possibly; around 7pm? That makes two spottings of me, and none I've seen of you!

Spotted the mighty gembo resplendent in pink gilet, powering out of Colinton village this morning.

I was in disguise on my enduro motorbike with the big red fairing.

@IWRATS no they're illegal on public carriageways and spaces, but police don't seem to mind. The site selling them is pretty open about it and says that they reckon the government will change the way they're thinking about this some time soon.

I used to have to hide my electric skateboard from the cops when I used to commute on it years back, was harder then as it had a 25kg battery on the bottom and was about the size of the average snowboard is now. Early adopters curse.

@ARobComp please say you were wearing a voluminous trench coat and concealed the illegal e-skateboard inside it?

A politician beloved by some members of this forum appears to have swapped motor vehicles again, this time in favour of one with their party's name and logo all over it. When I passed it was parked in what appeared at first glance to be a disabled parking bay, but I think it is no longer technically one (no sign on the wall; not on the council's map of parking bays). Cunning indeed.

@ARobComp You've had an electric skateboard, one of those Big Wheel electric monowheel things... Did you ever try those exoskeleton goat-leg devices? A Mussolini farthing-penny?

Spotted wingpig waiting to cross the West Approach Road this evening, as I rumbled past on the motorbike.

Sore DaveC on the FRB last night.

Or at least I saw a flash of yellow ear warmer get blown past me while struggling into the headwind.

A cyclist in a recumbent that can only be described as a "red torpedo" at Cameron Toll this morning. I passed them at the lights and then was thoroughly trounced by them as they headed up Craigmillar Park towards town at an impressive speed.

    Arellcat, I presume?

gembo on Leamington Lift Bridge this morning. He informed of the presence of Big John on the towpath, who I spotted and chatted to by Harrison Park - he is unfortunately of the opinion that the workplace parking levy will be a tax on hard-working people despite my attempt to argue for it (this only came up because he asked what I am doing this weekend; I said I would be preparing a Green newsletter).

  15. Spotted a cheerful looking @fimm cruising to the train station in Livi last night.

I spotted gembo on the towpath by Harrison Park before he spotted me! Admittedly I cheated as he was engrossed in a conversation.

Vicarious spot of @gembo by madame IWRATS on the High Street 'in full regalia and full flow'.

I can't imagine what she means.

Met pedestrianised @sheeptoucher last night around 7.15pm on Lothian Rd. We exchanged quick and surprised 'Hellos'.

Half a minute later I think I saw @LaidBack crossing Lothian Road with paper tickets in hand

Big John was told to move along by me with his WPL views. Big John told me he votes for brexit and did I want to know why. I said no and please move along and tell me why your shoes always look new. He has two identical pairs which he rotates. He has seen the otter four times.

Big John was who @piosad saw me chatting too. Did not invite him to overlander

@madame IWRATS maybe saw me in my work suit just before 11.?

Man on a bike with a big flowing beard at the end of Lauriston Street talking to a man through the window of a car with Portobello Massage Therapy written on the door. He might have been telling him to not use a portable telephone.

This afternoon I was spotted on South Clerk St by a guy who exclaimed, as he crossed the road in front of me, "It's the red torpedo!"

Turned out to be Scoosh, occasionally OTP but mainly Cyclechat.

I was spotted the other morning by a small child on canal towpath, very enamoured of my pink top.

At Craigie’s this afternoon: a fab Yuba Spicy Curry e-cargobike with child seat attached, locked up to a stunning Shand. I did drool a little.

An pristine un-ridden 1997 Rockhopper FS A1 minus its front wheel in the metal skip at Craigentinny dump.

Fished it out and caused it to be admitted to the Bike Station for treatment. A quite beautiful bike.

Facebook Memories reminds me that it's exactly ten years since I first cycled to work on what was a windy morning. Apparently it took me around 55 minutes to cycle from my city centre flat to Heriot-Watt University. I'm glad that I wasn't put off by the wind, although it took me several weeks to build up to confidently cycling to work everyday. It was almost certainly the best decision that I have made in my adult life. Here's to the next ten years of cycling!

    +1 from IWARTS.

But...where does joining Facebook rank as a decision?
