South Skye Bikes had a container next to Armadale Pier, but never saw anyone around. Saw some e-bikes for hire from a shop in Mallaig though, and one came over on the ferry with us.

We were staying with some friends a few hundred metres up the road from the ferry. May have almost spotted just missed a few of the Trans Alba racers going through

Third Wheel got five ***** review in Velo Vision mag about 10 years ago.
Could be a good accessory for recliner. Do they still sell them?

Looks like they rebranded, which was probably sensible:

Woman on cycle with what looked like smart leather panniers, cycling down the ramp from the pavement on Princes Street through the west end of Princes Street gardens past the fountain. I lost sight of her but thought she must have been taking a cheeky cut through to King Stables Road.

@Rosie Google maps is convinced that through the Gardens to King Stables is a legit bike route, which might explain it?

Meanwhile in Sofia today - a man rode past me on an oldish hybrid wearing a red Canada gillet and a pair of ski goggles...

She was clearly off to Bum the Dog.

3 legged St. Bernard spaniel cross that lived in San Diego? In 1890s?

At Annandale Water services just now (with family, in the car) I spotted a gentleman in cycling kit. From his demeanour and attire I announced with confidence to the family "he'll be an audaxer".

Sure enough outside was parked a black Genesis (Tour de Fer?) with mudguards and a fetching tweed Carradice saddlebag.

Maybe it wasn't his and maybe he wasn't an audaxer...

Sure it was that way round? Lots going on on Bingham. Just read a theory that human civilisation is essentially monkeys co-opted by yeast.

“Google maps is convinced that through the Gardens to King Stables is a legit bike route, which might explain it?”

    We’ve had this before.

Pretty sure that, under access legislation, this is true.

Certainly used to be the case that CEC thought so but weren’t going to advertise the fact.

Oh interesting about Gardens as a cut through to King Stables Road being legit.

Statue of Bum had four legs. Also some wine dark flowers laid down yesterday

Certainly cycle through to king stables but then you are on king stables

Sir Chris Hoy racing in the Porsche Supercup at Silverstone just now. He didn't do very well.

Quite a lot of people using bicycles to get around the general access at Silverstone. It probably made more sense yesterday and Friday given how busy it is today.

  17. I did a short history piece for STV Edinburgh on Bum the Dog quite a few years ago - they have a reciprocal Greyfriar's Bobby in San Diego, which is right beside their Bum, and much more prominent than our Bum, who is really unfairly tucked away.

Bum was so famous in San Diego, as the original littlest Hobo, who would be fed by all and sundry in the city, that his image was used on dog licences at the time. It's a really interesting tale.

The end of my piece for STV got edited out. I had the marvellous closing line of, "Hopefully more people will seek out the statue, now that we've got to the bottom of Bum." They really didn't like so many references to 'Bum' (though were fine with references to presumed homosexuality simply because a chap was effeminate in a piece about the Craigentinny Marbles).

@Wilmer did you not do the Great Lafayette too - who died a few days after his dug and has big tombstones in craigentinny and a smaller flat stone for his beloved mutt? Or was it just the other mausoleum in craigentinny?

One of the people I follow on the Twitter is cycling round Provence with a loose rear QR skewer. You can see it in the photo.

I can't tell them because that would be mansplaining and probably it'll be OK but what if it isn't and they lose the back wheel on a bump?

Why would a simple "Your QR skewer looks a bit loose in that photo, is it OK?" be mansplaining?

Dunno, it just would be. I think. Maybe just in my head?

How we met: ‘His Tinder profile said he wanted to cycle round the world. I asked: When are we leaving?’

@ARobcomp styling on his VanMoof at Leamington.

He would shortly overtake an ice cream trike. Branded No. 11 Brasserie. Had some e-cooler pack on back but propelled by vendor otherwise.
