Was a tale recently of someone getting turned away from a borders bothy - people having a 'private party' (!)

Yes writing books about them is the beginning of the end

That blog post doesn't actually tell you where the bothy is (unlike the links in my post about our bothy trip, and no one complained about that...)

Mr fimm should be in that bothy tomorrow night...

unlike the links in my post

I assumed they were all MBA ones, admittedly I didn't check.

    BBA are pretty old school.

I was following someone along the Innocent path this morning. They were going slower than I wanted to be going, so after a minute or so, I said "I'm just coming past on the right" and went to overtake.

As I did so, they screamed.

They had earphones in and didn't so much as look at me, so I think they just happened to scream as I was trying to overtake, but their timing was impeccable. Not a peep or a glance from them until then, nor in the several minutes afterwards (I abandoned the overtake until we reached the wider path in the tunnel).

I passed Mrs Kim this morning as she was heading into town from the Gowkley Moss roundabout. I was in disguise though on my motorbike, which I was using because I had an appointment after work for which the torpedo was unsuited and because my recumbent is still broken.

Following said appointment, I thought I spotted Morningsider cycling through Morningside, but the blue jauntily checked shirt and the rather tall handlebars didn't look so familiar.

Arellcat - yes, that was me. I thought that was you, but you were also in disguise. Was that your motorbike parked a little further up the road? Lovely/terrifying looking machine!

Yes, that was the big machine. :-)

If today is a today for spotting @Morningsider, then I claim my spot from this evening. Jauntily checked shirt still in evidence, but this time while cutting hedges into precise polyhedra that put mine to shame (and I thought my evenly cut hedges were quite good)

I was on my way to the garage to ride a turbo trainer. It was extremely sweaty.

I've only ever seen the highly sartorial Morningsider, which was why I doubted my own eyes.

My hedges small bushy trees are really needing a haircut. My big tree needs reducing quite a bit.

I might even have a spare set of shears to donate to your estate management operation save that they are in Glasgow at present - but there's probably something mean(er) & seriously mechanised closer to hand.

I find it mildly amusing that it's only a band B council tax. Quite starkly contrasts the market this flat was intended for only a few decades ago, compared with the rich people who are able to buy it now because of it's value.

That's a nice flat. It's also outrageously expensive. I have a hob like that one, though.

probably something mean(er) & seriously mechanised closer to hand.

Meaner already chez AC; mechanised chez AC Senior. The rate limiting step is my depleted stock of round tuits and the current feedback loop of being unable to manufacture more.

I watched with envy as someone pushed one bike whilst riding another on Buccleuch St the other day.

Is there a single verb for that act? I propose "bi-cycle".

Sorry Frenchy, it's not as prosaic as "bi-cycling", I believe it's called "ghosting", and my last attempt involved colliding with a tree in front of a colleague.

I contend that the tree lacked situational awareness...

Tree probably wasn't even wearing hi-viz?

I'm going to stick with "bi-cycling".

Large numbers of cyclists going north through the Moorfoots yesterday around midday. With bags. Lots of styles. Some kind of sponsored event?

Also unusually high numbers of male/female roadie couples out yesterday.

A person I know as "BackOnMyBike" and her small person at Dunbar station. Small person was doing well to handle a fairly heavily laden bike.

A six wheeled Lothian Bus turning right from Home Street onto Gilmore Place this evening, cutting over the ASZ in the process. Given that drivers struggle to avoid doing this with four wheeled buses, it was no big surprise.

The developers in Granton clearly aren’t the biggest fans of dropped kerbs. I’ve also never seen so much paint that means so little than at the Lower Granton Road/Trinity Road traffic lights!

The aftermath of somebody having gone into the canal under the longer canal bridge by Harrison Park this evening. Three people, one dripping wet, and two bikes were creating an obstruction as I cautiously wheeled my bike past.
