    Spotted a father and daughter tourist team at the Tron looking anxiously at a map. Much anguished pointing and squinting.

    Father Gembo gave me two acts of random kindness by way of penance the other day so I went over and asked what they were looking for. Directed them to the Elephant House and went my way.

    Caught up with my peloton by the statue of Wellington. Cycling is the transport mode lets you be nice and get there on time.

    I'm quite enjoying the possibility that they weren't looking for the Elephant House.

    Someone pedalling a Sinclair C5 (or something that looked like one) on West Granton Access (spotted on both my commute to and from work today).

    Big John emerging from undergrowth just west of Harrison Park. I might have stopped to talk to him had I spotted him sooner, although I was running a little late today.

    A hearty tring! tring! in my rearview mirror turned out to be the familar shape of Morningsider, sartorially filtering through the traffic in which I was stuck, near the bottom of Morningside. The torpedo is really useless in dense traffic.

    I put the hammer down on the next green and nearly caught up, a few blocks up the hill, but then lost sight amongst various passing cars.

    A bus driver gave me a wave and a wee flash of the headlights as I sped down the B7003 later on, swiftly followed by a wave and a wee flash of the headlights from the friend of my next door neighbour.

    I managed to spot Big John from a distance this morning so stopped to chat. He has particularly enjoyed 'Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood' and 'IT Chapter Two' at the cinema recently, the former of which I enjoyed bits of but found to be fairly bloated and underwhelming, and the latter of which I have yet to see but have heard very mixed reviews.

    With regards to the Slow Cycling Movement, the Just Eat bikes lend themselves to that too, as does my German city bike. Slow down and enjoy the journey!
    (Closely related to that - freewheeling through a huge puddle with your legs stuck out to the sides)

    A person walking along Lauriston Place carrying skis just now, who asked if I would stop to take a photo of them on their phone. They were very polite so I did so and they were grateful.

    Spotted Katarina at the Soul Cycles on Sunday. She was looking for cheap/free bike lights. My friend who works there says that she comes round most days trying to get some freebies/stuff fixed. She now wears a Polish flag arm band.

    Spotted punters doing this late on Saturday;

    Pushing their bikes on the flat into a roaring wind with many, many miles to go. Looked quite miserable.

    no no - I think your concentrations were rightly elsewhere - usually I see you heading over the bridge as I turn right to go to Fountainbridge via the canal on the tollcross side

    Two folk parked in two different cars on Kirk Brae, apparently conducting a traffic survey on behalf of the Department for Transport. One of them had a wooden board with several rows of those clicky counters that bouncers and train guards have, the other had a piece of paper and a pencil.

    Presumably in solidarity with the drivers they were counting, one of them was actually busy looking at their phone.

    ARobComp on NMW and then a triple-whammy of a high-five with gembo (who tipped me off about Big John who I then failed to spot), and hellos with piosad and, I assume, algo - shortly after greeting piosad, a loud "hello" startled me into an automatic reply and the peripheral recognition that it had come from a quite tall looking person who was in the process of passing me heading into town. Eventually, I hope to manage to spot algo normally.
