I was mildly surprised to spot piosad crossing the King's Theatre Junction from Home Street and Leven Street right in front of me as I was about to pull away from the ASZ on Tarvit Street this morning.

I was going to pop into Biketrax this morning, so went down Lochrin Place off the canal. Hence the unusual route.

I spotted Piosad at lift bridge. Passenger ion tow a long in better aerodynamic position then the other day but still might consider pedalling~?

I know exactly who you mean. Has a fag outside Marchmont Co-op every morning about 8:45.

    He does indeed look grizzled.

I see him a lot and always wonder what he does! It is nice to have some background.

A conversation we are having every day. (But actually the position needs to be solved at a systemic level: the connector for the tagalong is very worn and I don't think spares for it exist any more…)

At Blackford junction this morning, two young women on bicycles heading up towards KB
Unremarkable except that one had a very interesting bike with narrow tubes (steel?) and old aluminium bars with a strange flare to them, and, more strikingly, she had no gloves on. I cannot even imagine how she could have been on a bike in those frigid conditions without something to keep her hands warm. She seemed quite content though.

Had a pleasant chat with IWRATS on the way up Craigmillar Park / Minto Street this morning.

Admired @EdinburghCycleCamera's new Gazelle. Very cute and a tempting basis for my bespoke commuter with a larger sprocket, suspension fork and swept bars.

Later on a Sinclair C5 at Harkess Funeral Services made me wonder if a giant Sinclair C5 hearse would be possible.

Albabeverage van parked on the double yellows entering the Picardy Hellscape. Outstanding selfishness.

Then Backwards Wheelchair Guy trailing a wheelie-case down the Foot of the Walk.

piosad was waiting in the Gilmore Place ASZ at the King's Theatre Junction this morning as I arrived in the ASZ on Tarvit Street. I took advantage of the simultaneous light change (instead of the Home Street/Gilmore Place filter) to beat the oncoming traffic to turn right and then left past Biketrax so didn't get the opportunity to say hello.

Workies in the process of fixing the errupting towpath at Boroughmuir Plaza at long long last. Looks like it should be finished fairly quickly now they have been deployed...

What I believe was Operation Close Pass on Old Dalkeith Road. Looked as though someone was being schooled

Spotted AlanR triking his way out of Morningside for Greenbank and beyond. I was in the torpedo and was carrying too much speed to engage in conversation so just overtook with a wave.

As I joined the top of MMW and was looking to avoid the worst of the grit on my MTB, I heard a friendly greeting to my right and looked over to return the greeting to algo.

Spotted a white Urban Arrow motoring east along the Sighthill-Broomhouse-Balgreen bicycle expressway this afternoon.

Spotted a familiar-looking Elephant bike with what appears to be glowing red testicles where a bike light would normally be.
I'd have been the cyclocross bike with the ill-fitting (and hence noisy) mudguard.

Dude in black with no lights on Princes Street. 'Very brave' I thought.

Looked closer and he was wearing a tiny black plastic hat with what appeared to be a sickly glow worm wrapped round it. Some photons escaped from its event horizon.

Spotted Mr Weezee Urban Arrowing down North Bridge this morning, and overtaking me on my very trundley Elephant Bike.

I can also confirm that Matilda the EB, at least, does not have glowing red testicles.

Another elephant bike this time ridden by WC suggested he join us at PY but he had to be in the office.

Someone on a recumbent, possible Mr Laidback, going through the 5-way Gorgie Road / Dalry Road junction about 6:20 yesterday evening.

Gembo going down Lanark Road near Gillespie crossroads as I was going up - thanks for the shout!

Large amounts of traffic not going anywhere particularly fast all over central Edinburgh.

Marchmont Road was particularly bad for no apparent reason.

Fortunately I was on a bike so no significant delays...

    @fimm
Was on way to Ride to the Sun - aka '35 get lost in Ecclesmachan' aquatic event.
We all went to Cramond Brig hotel after.
Met @acsimpson and @harts_cyclery (who was very dry as not cycling / family night out).
Knock on was I slept in this morning missing PY. I could also have entered in bad cycling thread. Disc brakes went super mushy and I failed to slow down to turn sharp right downhill on the Burnshot pavement/cyclepath. Ended up parked on a grassy traffic island. No-one much noticed.
Pub was very welcome before cycling back in.

Ambulance parked on MMW last night by the junction with NMW. Two Deliveroo bags were propped by the side of the path and two bicycles had been stowed in the back of the ambulance. Nobody was in the immediate vicinity, but several people seemed to be inside.

Festive red glow from within the canal by Viewforth Bridge last night - rats presumably put up their decorations?

Not really although I was pretty much past it by the time I spotted it. It wasn't flashing so presumably wasn't a Just Eat Cycle.

  30. @mcairney I'm the Elephant cyclist with the testicles. Hang on. That came out wrong. Secret Santa present that may be removed after realising the numbers of schools I pass by on the commute!

@steveo, I genuinely DID need to get to the office!
