Danny MacAskill at Hunter Square on Saturday afternoon. He was on bike and with Redbull Helmet, but was just chatting to folk and I couldn't stop to see if he was going to do some stunts.

Person with impressive rig this morning around green bank and on to clunky gardens

Big tandem, Child in child seat behind first saddle. Further child seat behind the second saddle (no child),

Ortlieb back rollers but on the front wheel. Tail wind was giving this rig some assist

I failed to get up early enough to stop by PY but did see ARobComp pacing up and down outside while a group of CCE-types occupied the usual table inside a little after 9 am. SRD then hailed me just after I turned from MMW onto NMW.

was quite pleased to spot jdanielp before he spotted me, but then baffled to see arobcomp outside PY and realise i'd forgotten it was the last friday of the month.

Young dude on a brand-new Gazelle with porteur rack and kiddie seat and all the urban mobility goodies. Bit of hope.

Someone at work has a nice new Tern e-folder with a lovely basket on the back.

Glad that my morning briefing for my team delivered remotely translated into a PY signpost. I'm available for other signposting activities. Let me know if you'd like me to pace up and down speaking on my headphones at your next social gathering.

Algo (I think) cycling by the canal with a small person mounted in front him. I was running, but think I was recognised.

Last night I spotted someone trying to walk with a bike but wheeling the back wheel only as the front one looked squint. The bike looks in a good nick otherwise and had panniers, so I thought it was a bit weird. A few minutes later I bumped into my band mate who was running and he told me that there was a bike-car accident by the Corn Exchange when he had started his run. The ambulance was called. The person wheeling the bike was nearby and my friend said that that was probably the bike involved in the accident as he recognized the red pannier. Probably a friend of the cyclist came to collect the bike.

    Hope the cyclist is fine.

@fimm thanks for the potential spot but not me I'm afraid. Weirdly though that's exactly where I've just been - are you time travelling?

@fimm That was myself and mini ARobComp heading to swimming at the WHEC. OF all the people on the canal at that time that we came past 20% were active on CCE.

Hope you had a good run! You were heading the right way for the horrible rain. Mini got a face full of wind driven icy rain for the first time and she was NOT a fan. However she recovered when we turned off the canal and said "it's a bit rainy isn't it". Glad she's learning understatement.

Apologies algo and ARobComp. I had just turned round from running into the wind and was enjoying the tailwind!

A "DO NOT OVERTAKE CYCLISTS" sign at the roadworks on Forrest Rd.

    This is good.

If this became a general rule for all roads in Edinburgh, things would be even better. And as we all know, there would be no impact on car journey times.

I am less keen on the stupid all-green merge being restricted to one lane without a give way sign or similar. But at least it reminds drivers that we exist.

Possibly spotted Frenchy heading North down Gilmerton Road at about 19:20 tonight?

@Frenchy - Yup, deliberately confusing you by coming from the wrong direction.

Also spotted and wished Lesley Macinnes a good morning today.

Spotted @jdanielp this morning on MMW - shorty after stopping to take a pic of the magnificent view of Arthur's Seat over the meadows...

@algo apologies if you were seeking a high five - I'm only used to reacting to such invitations on the canal towpath.

I subsequently spotted Luke from Biketrax and piosad on the towpath.

I am no Gembo I realise - I require practice - I think it is advisable to decline until you can be sure I don't knock us both off our bikes with enthusiasm

Never seen Morningside Waitrose racks without bikes before.

Usually some that are left more than just while shopping.

Cursed morning this morning (not for me)

One poor individual having a clipless moment and landing on the embankment beside the ice rink and two separate souls repairing punctures on the Roseburn path.

@chdot Never seen Morningside Waitrose racks without bikes before.

Do cyclists favour Aldi and Lidl more I wonder?
Just Eat also changing bike use?
Waitrose are more an EV type of clientele?

Morningside Road fantastically hostile at some times - really a slow moving car park with buses mixed in.

    Work e-mail:

    Hi

Is any team sending out and receiving surveys on behalf of Cycling Scotland? We’ve received a completed survey in the post and it came back in a prepaid envelope; however it could have been wrongly enveloped.

    Kind regards

So far have abstained from pointing out that no harm is done by returning Cycling Scotland questionnaires to random addresses.
