Yes - our second "daily mile". A surprising hit, following initial resistance yesterday.

Cyclist with a nasty cough on the canal towpath yesterday evening. He was coughing into something over his mouth but still. I'm going to avoid the towpath in future, it is too busy and narrow to give space.

@fimm I heard someone coughing on the towpath in Wester Hailes at about 6.30pm or so last night as well. I was on Haiseland Rd which runs below the towpath and was also wondering 'Why?'.

@EdinburghCycleCam heading into Gilmerton around 6ish? I shouted hello, but you were pretty far past by the time I'd realised it was you.

Someone trying to fit their shopping bag into the 'basket' of a Just Eat Cycle before giving up and hanging it from the handlebar before setting off opposite the Art College.

3 ambulances in the space of 5 mins coming in & out of the mortuary handling centre at Kings Haugh / Peffermill

    Not good

That's the on-call ambulance base for south Edinburgh. They come and go all the time.

Ah OK. Makes sense. Just coincidence the mortuary and Co-op funeral services are there then.

On short cycle to shop yesterday. #2m distancing
Went round long way up Bruntsfield around 10am. Spotted a good number of cyclists. Meadows were busiest I've seen them.
Wave from / to family group (forumers?) doing right turn out of Chamber St. Nice to see - was heading full speed to make the green at Bristo Place.
Dilemma now is that it feels wrong to have any kind of fun riding bike further than necessary. Family outings by bike though are of course 'a good thing'!

Gammon in Comely Bank Waitrose gammonsplaining to the till operative that this is all a big fuss over nothing. Shelfful of 'pasta flour' being ignored by people who looked like they were looking for it. More flour in Broughton Lidl; also a woman holding a bike at the back of the tills who must have taken it up the travelator, then back down when I passed her again after leaving the car park.

Hope till operative had mask and gloves?

Been bringing in my stashes of branches from The Wasteland quite a lot of people coughing their way down the WoL Path. I would avoid it if I were you, even with full mask, goggles and flippers

Rather large black helicopter circling overhead near the Meadows. Didn't help the somewhat post-apocalyptic feel of my cycle.

Folding e-bike on the hoaching Restalrig path went past playing some sort of easy-listening pseudojazz. Stopped just past the allotment and then went back, playing Dylan.

Chopper circled ERI but didn't land. Looked like a Royal Navy Mark 3 Merlin.

@iwrats Wondered whose and what type it was. I thought they were bigger, but still surely slightly overkilly for observation, even if they are the search and rescue replacement for the Sea King? Presumably better range and scarier-looking than the wee fuzzcopter? Wonder if they're just watching for gatherings of neds or more purposeful miscreants waiting to sneak into the infirmary after dark?

There can be no knowing what it was up to, but I don't think it was watching us.

The RAF have based three Puma helicopters at Kinloss from last Thursday as part of the UK Covid support force. Might have been one of those on a training mission - checking out the Royal Infirmary would seem a good idea.

@Frenchy - Yup, that was probably me, you with two dogs? I did wonder if it was you, but thought you only had the one...

Spotted by a very sharp eyed @harts_cyclery today on my way to South Queensferry

I spotted a police van pulled over to the side of the road with an officer stood by it and seemingly looking up towards the crags as I was cycling around Holywood Park before then spotting the helicopter as I was coming back around the top road before completing my lap. Maybe some kind of incident had occurred in a tight spot?

Looks like Pentland car parks around Balerno are closed. Also signs on the roads leading to them to not park there.

Water of Leith car park by Colinton tunnel also looked shut.

An @Iain McR on Silverknowes/Cramond prom. Social distancing of c.4m was applied.

Also to note: post-pandemic conventional money will lose all value and Freddo Frogs will be the new unit of exchange.

Also spotted: an EPIC double rainbow over Granton & the Forth.

last night around 8pm, opposite Tynecastle. Was doing a steady trade in 99s.

I guess normal rules don't apply in lockdown ie anytime is ice cream time.
