“Ended up in someone else’s snapshot.“

    Please explain for the uninitiated.

Zwift automatically takes snapshots during a race from your point of view and uploads them to Strava if you've connected it all up. Looking through the feeds of some of the other people I ended up in a group with revealed a nice picture of 'Laid Back Dave' with a Saltire floating above his head (surrounded by Scandinavians).

This morning I took the winter bike out for spin, had been out in deluge for 2.5 hours saturday though had dried and lubed it. Alas bad crunching from the get go, when turning pedal or freewheeling so I guess bearings on back wheel.

So took summer bike from its hook where it was exiled in April (gears skipping)

My thinking was it just needs new cassette and chain.

Cycled in to THe Cyle Service as per agreeement. No skipping. But H. Said chain very stretched and as she had the cassette best to change it. Will be ready at 4

These are the things I spotted on my Stravaiging back through Edinburgh

Cafe next to the Cycle Service is open takeaway but sitting at tables outside. Nice. THe Pear Tree beer garden open with big queue at noon. You have to book. The medics supplies shop up near forest road is open 12-3pm for masked etc.

Sandy Bells has taken down sign at front revealing earlier name - The Forest Hill Bar.

YOU can still cycle against the traffic at Monboddo.Bread St - the drivers would think you were mad and indeed the cars are parked in this dis-used bus lane, Only ever spotted @Hankchief very early one morning cylcling this lane.

Cycle Republic now called Pure. Turning left there into the complex reveals a huge sunken garden. Very nice if shady.

There is a massive hole in the ground going up to the Learmonth Lift Bridge - the new flats where the Lady Boys used to perform are almost built.

I then arrived at cinemas at Viewforth and Mrs Garto arrived at same time and gave me a lift home. Nothing else to report.

Was windae hingin’ this afternoon (trying to open a. Window that had been closed by a child when the paint. Was still drying).

Spotted chap go up in to Balerno on Focus. He came back down on the same bike but with the frame of another bike over his shoulder. Which was cool

    @IWRATS

Nah, went up his mates for that old frame he was giving him. No wheels or forks or bars or chain. just the frame, nattily draped over the shoulder

Vittoria de Sica’s plural movie of the above though, I first saw maybe 1985 at the Glasgow Film Theatre After which we went round to Fazzi Bros (now gone but the offshoot Fratelli Sarti is a restaurant I have an apron from)

There is an advert on tv now advising close passes can be 3points on licences. Seen it twice on C4

Iain McR about to brave the Potterrow Flyover on a bike yesterday. I was recycling glass and shouted a cheery greeting, was looked at, but not spotted.

@jdanielp consumed with guilt at the unrequited spot.

Was in a world of my own, probably having imaginary argument about pavement parking.

Many, many bicyclists sharing the roads with many, many motor vehicles, including mine. Not a cycle lane to be seen.

@urchaidh - yes - in rain and had no mudguards. Was aware of crowd at pizza stop. One of two dropped in at shop by local resident for repair. Was going to feature in today's bike repair. Done wonders to unseize most parts. Front forks though are stuck fast.
If it gets someone on a bike then fine.

Someone on Drum Street on a takeaway bike. Don't think I've seen someone else on one so far south before.

Couple with a kid in a trailer about to turn onto Old Dalkeith Road from The Wisp.

People making deliveries of large bottles of water along the Kirkgate with a flat-bed hand-tricycle sort of thing. Maybe one day such a thing will be seen on Forrest Road.

    On the Twitter, numerous haters.

One is called On Balance which is a strange name for him (I assume XY chromosomes) - I would go more for On Rabid or On See YOu Next Tuesday

As I walked around Arthur's Seat the other day I spotted a majority of people who were passing me on bicycles were neither male nor white, albeit that demographic did then substantially reduce the majority during the last section of the walk. It was nice to see the diversity in any case.

Numerous first timers ascending maidens cleuch tonight. Two with very little idea - but good looking Merida mountain bikes. At the pass one reminded the other about shockies. Best case scenario urban mtb users venturing into the hills. Worse case scenario. Someone’s stolen bikes have been sold on.

Lots of wild swimmers out in Thriepmuir with their little buoys trailing.

A group of well behaved balerno youth having an alcohol free gathering on the beach.
