If not, he's got a very talented lookalikey.

There is someone who looks a lot like him, and rides a blue Inspired Bikes bike. I met him jumping on and off things on Valleyfield Street a year or so ago, and I have a nagging (and therefore unsubstantiated) memory of him saying Danny was his cousin.

It was the blue and white bike. I've photographed it once before outside the Co-op in Marchmont.

    He can't half natter though!

No one like that around here!

Was escorted down Queen Street towards Leith on my way to Haddington Place by a nice young man who took great interest in my Raleigh Hack Fixed. No idea who it was or whether he is on here, though.

Cyclingmollie on Ken Laidlaw. Nice to meet you at last. It was a tough day out (but well organised.

Amir, yes good to meet you too and well done recognising me. It was a hard ride. Not sure I liked the mass start. The ride got much better once the numbers thinned out.

About 08:50 this morning along Silverknowes shore, a parked small wheeled (folding?) bike and the rider (I surmise) pointing a whopping great telephoto lens in the general direction of Fife. Wondered if he was waiting on the sections of aircraft carrier coming up the Forth (might have been a day late tho'...).

Last situation update 19.45 2oth August: Job done. The carrier block on the barge has been berthed at Rosyth. Two of the three local tugs have departed, leaving Seal Carr and Eraclea moored in the dock basin.

Maybe our two-wheeled togger was waiting on the tugs coming back down the Forth. Or he was shooting (photographically) sea life.

  10. IMK - must surely have passed each other this morning, I saw the same chap at about 08:40 (and thought he was pointing a camera at the Great Crested Grebes I'd spotted till I saw he was looking in completely the wrong place).

Back of 8 this morning, recumbent trike (possibly w/flag?) heading east along Slateford Road.

Was really tired this morning, so didnt even notice him until we passed each other.

  12. A number of cyclists this morning as I sat on a (telecoms? power?) metal box on the corner of Bread Street and Lothian Road snapping away with the camera (got a new wee project I'm working on...).

Majority were helmeted and/or lycra'd and/or hi-vized. One chap in suit, shirt, tie (going at a decent lick).

I was in spottable dress... Forget hi-viz, if you want to be noticed by drivers wear a bright Hawaian shirt, really does the trick.

I think it's the traffic lights control box. I've previously been at that junction when the lights have been disabled and there were traffic wardens manually controlling traffic. Then an ambulance with out-rider escort came screaming up the road. Once it was through, one of the traffic wardens wandered over to that box and the lights sprang back to life.

    "I was in spottable dress."

I read that as "spotted dress". I should think that would definately be noticeable..

    Hi Nelly,

That was me - I've been out of cyculation for a couple of weeks so this is the first time I've been back. I'm going the other way tonight at about 5-30pm, so give me a wave if you see me! I'll be on a blue recumbent trike with a flag. After two weeks off, I hope Lanark Road hill won't be too tiring - we'll see ..

I feel like doing circiuts round the Bread St/Lothian road junction on differing bikes with and without helmet just to mess up Anthony's stats now.... ;-D

Great suggestion of Anthony's - perhaps I'll try a Hawaiian shirt tomorrow ...

Ned-tube on rattlebike with dog on string, heading along Mitchell St across Constitution St with it trying to run under his wheels. Tried to get a picture but two other muppets stood in the way.

@alanr, good luck up the hill!

I am usually a bit earlier in/home, but will shout if I see you.

I will be mostly riding the black beat up SS, white bar tape, green carradice saddlebag.

My fashion sense does not match Anthonys.....

Cool cheers for the pic guys and galls. We live in Dalgety Bay but missed this as I didn't know the exact time and couldn't afford the time sitting by the shore all day to catch it.

Kaputnik. I think. Would be my first spot when I was actually on a bike.
Joined Glasgow Road at Corstorphine, behind K (possibly) who was stuck behind an Airlink. When the traffic started moving I failed spectacularly to keep up.

@cb yes. well spotted. Stupid Airlink bus kept sitting half in and half out of lanes, not leaving room to filter past on either side. I remembered why I never go that way heading west-east now

Funnily enough I think I was behind cb who was behind kaputnik who was stuck behind the airlink bus.

Had child seat on, which was acting as a very efficient airbrake in the headwind, so didn't even try to keep up. Would have been double plus commuter points if I'd managed :)
