Actually I think Wednesday last week was actually Tuesday... It should be easier to remember which day I last cycled now that I only go to work a few days per week at most, but seemingly not.

Was at sweary Jim’s for a haircut, he was on good form. Took the segregated path from Haymarket and nearly made it to George St. before having to cross to the oath on the other side as east bound still under construction. But then at George st big road works. Nearly there though. Nearly

Fairly sure that @edinburgh87 went past me this morning as I tried to stop the dogs eating chips on Drum Street.

@Dave, taking full advantage of the flexibility and capacity of the mighty GSD for sandwich-loading activities at Greggs in Morningside just now. I was disguised as a pedestrian in a stupid hat.

Good spot! That was a surgical strike while the kids are in music class

Was that @urchaidh or a doppelganger that I saw today in Newcastle?

On the towpath this morning, heading towards a lovely ride around the Pentlands reservoirs (which felt much more spring-like than the last time I did it, a month ago), and coming towards me I saw a red GSD with two fully-loaded panniers on the back. They seemed completely full, which explains why the people I'd normally expect to see as passengers on the back were, in fact, riding their own bikes in front while @Dave was on the GSD alone. They grow up so fast...
Also, further up the WoL path, a bike came towards me heading into town. I noticed, enviously, the cool, black, flared handlebars (Jones Bars, perhaps). Maybe I was staring too much at them, but anyway, the rider (who I didn't recognise) wished me a very cheery good morning which surprised me so much that I didn't reply. If it was you (longish fair hair, reflective shades), please accept my apologies for my discourtesy!

Was passing through Newcastle on Saturday 13th, off the DFDS ferry and on to a train to Edinburgh, but this sounds like it was after that so, frighteningly, it must have been a doppelganger.Posted 7 months ago # -
Well at least I don't feel bad for not stopping to say hello now.

Bill, (of course) and HankChief at the latest "towpath talks" event at BikeTrax on Friday.

last week there were two cars parked on those double yellows, plus the sprawled bikes, and it was nearly impossible to get through.

Extreme solution for stopping that rattle??
Or creatively successful?

Formerly Lilac Helmet Lady twice within the last couple of weeks in the mornings on the canal towpath. Still no sign of Big John. I have also been routinely spotting the son of a friend of mine who has rowing practice on Thursday evenings. New infrastructure for deploying hanging gates over the canal appeared between the turning area by the CHAS office and Slateford Aqueduct recently.

No action on the Slaloms yet. Seem far away from Kayak Place at Harrison Gdns. Spotted two cyclists from Peebles today at Hermiston. They had come from Inverness on gravel. I sent them over west Kip and down East Side gravel. But they were following Markus Stitz capital trail.

There were slalom gates deployed and kayakers on the water when I passed one evening this week. Maybe Wednesday? Maybe they are so busy with kayakers at Harrison Gardens that wanted to expand but could only do so at the far side of the rowing section, but it's certainly quite a long way to paddle over to from the base.

Lots of bike racks at Edinburgh Gateway.
None seemed to be in use on Friday afternoon.
Posted 5 months ago # -
They do get some use, not certainly no risk of them being full. I think I've seen as many as 4 bikes there.
With the station primarily being used by commuters coming to Edinburgh i don't find that surprising. If the parking was secure then I suspect it would get more use with some overnight commuter parking.

That’s fair comment, but elsewhere ’in Europe’ they would probably be full
According to http://www.opencyclemap.org there is provision for 32 bikes there AND 64 nearby, both on the same side of the station.

Of course the Cammo development has many routes for cycling and walking but not one into station yet. Coming soon I hope.

@Arellcat recumbenting up Gilmerton Road.

@jdanielp’s new red jersey as we just managed to connector finger tips the other evening on canal path, also Jdanielp inside the jersey

@gembo I was maybe being overly cautious since we were on the bumpy part of the path by Harrison Park and last time we high-fived there I seem to remember catching you overly heavily...
Also spotted ARobComp on MMW the same morning, and was spotted by Greenroofer (who I really should have spotted first since I was overtaking, but hadn't quite managed to put all the pieces of the mystery together in time) last week out by Calder Road.
