gembo held a cheeky hand out for a high-five on the far side of Gilmore Place as we passed one another yesterday morning... The road was quiet, but it seemed like a long way across to attempt.

At the compass junction on the Meadows.
I suspect this “slow” sign has been put there by the coffee selling trailer, as part of their illicit A-board advertising campaign, since there was another “directions” one pointing to the coffee trailer

A successful high five with gembo on the canal towpath this morning.
I also saw three narrow boats on the move: two were heading out of the city and one was heading into the city. Hope they avoid the Mini...

@gembo thanks! I'm wearing my second pair of yellow socks today (they came free with the fancy version of the Official Tour de France magazine that my parents' buy) - I'm glad that mornings are cooler now because I forgot to bring in some office socks.

N St D St
(Utility trench at top)

Yeah, pretty sickening. They could have easily created a diversion around that. But oh no, it's much easier just to bung up a sign and call it closed. Never mind we directed people on bikes into a load of angry beepy drivers.

If this was the driveway to just one dwellinghouse they would have a steel plate across the trench for access 24/7, until they are actually working in that bit of the trench.
For the city's strategic east to west route that's supposed to help deliver a 30% fall in traffic on the A8... nothing

I'm not sure exactly where you are. However it can't be too far from where we are instructed to give way to a signpost:

A rare occasion where I spotted you just before you spotted me? I was regretting having put on so many waterproof items.

Brunswick Road
I knew it was ‘bad’, but I don’t think I’ve cycled that direction before.

I guess at least it lets you cower meekly to the side, when you get charged at by some aggressive driver coming the other way
