A gent on a silver hybrid traveling from Linlithgow station to Polmont along the canal path (at a healthy pace!), took me ages to catch him up then had a nice chat before pushing on home. If it was anyone one here, Hello!

Very much a grabshot, but I'm sure someone will know who/what -

If it's any consolation my failure to buy coffee yesterday resulted in a bag which lacked its usual metal-litre-flask-full-of-coffee, which must have saved me at least 1.3kg. I'd also forgotten to put on my hat, so that's a few extra hundred fewer grammes for the Cherry Bomb, Revolution front blinker and the hat itself.

chdot successfully using the bike lane in Forrest Rd while I made the mistake of going too far right. Normally the lane is parked on...

He later scampered into Chamber St... stopping at zebra of course

Dazzled by a recumbent which was travelling east on Queen's Drive between the parliament roundabout and Duke's Walk at about 11.15pm tonight.

You have a BRIGHT light - it needs to point slightly more left than it currently does.

@Nelly @Bikefan yup that was me, sorry about the dazzle, the mount broke and its got electrical tape holding it in place, I keep setting it to the right height (it covers the whole road) but the elastic nature of the tape means it keeps creeping up :( gotta get some epoxy putty and fix it properly. Thanks for the considerate pass, I noticed!

    @Amir not me!

@ruggtomcat - suspect a double spot, we had a child free day as tourists yesterday and think it was your bike/trailer opp city chambers ?

Didnt actually spot you as such, but bike must count!

Ps, no dazzle for me, was just impressed by brightness.

Yup double points! It is a pretty distinctive ride ;)

I thought I'd been spotted on my way in when I crossed a small lycra peleton (mixed) coming out of the road that goes to the innocent railway tunnel. Also in town spotted a big group of couriers filming a promo for the world bike messenger championships, which apparently are being held in Edinburgh this year. Nice guys, maybe not the best advert for cycling as they were all half cut, but could do a standing no-hands track-stand nonetheless.

He hee... the Cyo is so bright that every few days, some joker on the cyclepath will hold his hand over his eyes, even though it's broad daylight and the light is pointing down. (Think it might be the same joker).

Probably does it to everyone, since if I could mis-aim it on the move, I'd be able to let him know what he's missing ;-)

SRD (I think) at the top of Bruntsfield Links, 9-ish this morning. Me out of breath and not really on the ball (2nd commute this year - long story).

I also have the Cyo and I've also had some joker do that on me in broad daylight on MMW. He rode half the way up doing a comedy cover of the eyes thing and said "you're blinding me" as we crossed paths".

Had a nice (although sombre) introduction and chat with Baldcyclist at the airport park and ride last night. Recognised the bike as he rolled in and we chatted about events on the Corstorphine Road.

It's almost as if you ride something distinctive, ruggtomcat, with all these spots... :p

Hi there RJ! I recall a chap in red/yellow? perhaps that was you?

@ SRD: that would fit (mainly-red lid; yellow gilet; red and yellow stripes on jersey - face quite probably also red-and-yellow !!)

Bruntsfield Links is my regular link from school-run to commute and I should be back on it more days than not. I'll keep my eyes peeled ...

  22. RJ!!!! Long time no see!

Saw a cyclist at lunchtime giving a Lothian Bus the finger. Didn't see the lead-up, but the bus driver beeped the cyclist at the bottom of Lothian Road while sitting a yard (at most) from his back wheel.

I presume he thought the cyclist wasn't going quickly enough or something (unless he'd just swerved in front from the other lane) - and there was definitely nowhere for the cyclist to go from there!

Looked like he might stop for an argument as the bus stopped at the next bus stop (so if it was about speed he lost roughly 2 seconds getting to the stop) but he rolled on towards Princes Street.

Guy pushing an L-plated scooter through the works on Russell Road.

Then a GoCycle locked up at Roseburn - pointed out to me by the (cycling) owner of Roseburn Shoe Repairs.

Also chdot on Harrison Road as I was cycling down to Roseburn to pick up my two left boots.

"Also chdot on Harrison Road as I was cycling"

    Park, pavement or lights?

Saw 3 people but none I recognised.

Passed you crossing Polwarth Terrace. I was going Gilsland Road to Harrison Road, you were doing the opposite.

An ordinary bloke wearing ordinary clothes on an ordinary bike at the Canonmills junction this morning at about 8.05 :-p I didn't recognise him till it was too late to shout.

    "Passed you crossing Polwarth Terrace."

    Ah yes,

Think I was concentrating on whether the car behind would try to overtake at this point - as they do...

I vaguely recognised person going other way in Harrison Park, there are just too many people on bikes...

Parked outside DCA, Nethergate, Dundee. Schwinn Madison single speed with bronze coloured frame, 'guvnor' style drop north road bars, with sparkly gold foam bar grips (not convinced about this last bit).
