Fashionable young lady avec beret on Gocycle heading towards causewayside. Obviously had a spare £1500 to spend on toys.

a rather beautiful young man in a beautiful pillar-box red suit on a brompton of the same color. I think a red bowler would have set it off perfectly but he had opted for a plastic hat instead.
yesterday, 9pm lauriston place

This morning (Mon 0845 approx) inbound between ERI and Cameron Toll, a trike!... in sort of British Racing Green, tadpole shape, sit up butcher's pose, with a big green 'coolbox' locker thing in front loading cargo area, mudguards and looked utilitarian, awesome! Shame the rider has to wear hi-viz and plastic helmet instead of plus four tweeds, flying helmet and spats with buttons! Well done though because he was definitely struggling to fit in the narrow bits of red bike lane!

Probably the Pashley we've mentioned before that spends the day at the top of MMW? saw bloke opening up the juice bar this morning, and there may well have been a cooler-like thing on front of bike.

LaidBack Dave on Bristo Place about forty minutes ago.

Maybe it's the Brazilian Juice bar trike?

Lock away your children and small dogs! LaidBack is out on patrol... Mais Laidback was spotted on Saturday on foot taking up pavement space at Cafe Artista and cavorting with ERC members, after having just done the 'recycle' run on spanking new Circe Helios looking like he'd just been evicted from his kennel! Laidback definitely displays a form of withdrawal/OCD/ADHD when not velcroed onto something with wheels!

My second Go-cycle spot.
This one was being wheeled into the new bike sheds at Infomatics. Was black with white swing arm. Assume it was an electric version.Posted 14 years ago # -
I saw one of those weird thing barely locked to a lamp post out side the Roseburn a few weeks back, odd looking devices. Never seen one getting riden only locked up
Posted 14 years ago # -
I have seen one outside my work a few times. Didn't pay much attention to the lock but I will if I see it again.
Yesterday I saw a guy on a folder which had HUGE rear suspension. He was bouncing up and down like mad. I didn't see the make as I was too busy being mesmerised by the pogoing action. And this was standing still. I didn't get to see it moving as I got away quicker. I think that would just make me feel ill!

An amusing roadie with proper daemon lights coming up Causewayside at about 9am this morning. Not sure what his tail-light was, possibly a Red-eye (? - surprisingly bright for its size although still quite puny compared with yours truly's).
I was trying not to work up a sweat as en-route to a medical, but passed him easily enough up the hill. He caught me at a red light and leaned over with immense passion and concern to advise me that, seriously, I was almost invisible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should have seen that one coming. I only managed a "yeah whatever" as I turned off, then was kicking myself that I didn't shout "get your eyes tested then!" ;-)

Had a nice chat with the juice bar guy yesterday. He comes in from Liberton lon the pashley trike. Said the first couple of weeks were tough, but its okay now. He'd originally planned to use the trike as a mobile juice bar, but then got the MMW site, so the trike is mainly used to transport his frozen fruit etc. Nice guy!

"and concern to advise me that, seriously, I was almost invisible"
'Almost' simply isn't good enough, Dave.
You should strive for total invisibilty - and then he'll have nothing to complain about.

Bicycle built for three heading from Lothian rd onto Kings stables road as we left the market this morning (quite late actually, maybe closer to noon.)

Unicycle going up Argyle Place 10PM. No lights, no Altura Nightvision and no h****t.
Tsk.
Posted 14 years ago # -
To be fair, if there's anything you're not going to get run over on, a unicycle has to be pretty high up the list.
That said, I quite fancy a tall bike now, just so I can look down on all the roadies and say "really, you're almost invisible down there - I can't see you over vans and buses at all"...

Funny co-incidence. I thought I saw one of those on the Innocent on Friday morning coming towards me. Then I realised it was Anth sitting up.

You should have been checking out the A701 for the 3-man peloton that I was in this morning - turned out a not bad day for a ride.
My spot of the day was a character in a green trench coat and knitted beret on a bike, taking photos of cyclists on MMW from the back of an MTB. I think it may have been chdot in deep cover.

cb Group of about 10 riders heading south out of Edinburgh on the A702,
Did we wave to you...?
Was monthly Spokes Ride. Haven't done for a while but I heard they had booked a table for lunch at Leadburn Inn.
We did a wee bit of cycling too. Up by Gladhouse and back by Temple and Lasswade.

I thought you looked very satisfied when I spotted you drafting the green tourbus heading along Forest Road to GIVB. Must have been a good lunch!

[i]...character in a green trench coat and knitted beret...
Must arrange to have L&B's finest 'lift him' for stealing peoples' souls! Can you identify whether he had his hands in any of the Cooncil litter bins?
It's just that once someone puts something in the the bin it then becomes Cooncil property so again the Polis could be interested!...Posted 14 years ago # -
"Did we wave to you...?"
Er, well I was in the car at the time, so... no you didn't!

We sought refuge and had lunch at the leadburn inn on the way back from the borders. We were pretty wet (although we were to get wetter) and they had the aircon on ful blast, which was not very comfy. the service was great though, and good food. We did feel a bit out of place though with our wet kit, etc. Did wonder if they saw much of the cycle trade, or if we were a bit outside their normal clientele.

cb 'Er, well I was in the car at the time, so... no you didn't!'
!!
Of course... we did see a couple of riders going other way...SRD Did wonder if they saw much of the cycle trade,
Stuart who leads Spokes ride likes to support them and other places on the routes he takes. Of course the Inn is totally rebuilt after a car ran into it a few years ago and demolished it.Posted 14 years ago # -

I had the pleasure of a certain Mins company this morning from Gilmore Place to middle meadow walk.
That was a proper SPOTTED for sure.

Aye that was cool. Loving the new bar tape. Think I will go for red next time but being tight will wait until the current stuff wears out. :-)
