Nelly (I think) going down Argyle Place behind ERI bus. Was passed before I realised....
That street is full of double parked vehicles....Posted 12 years ago # -
Mr SRD and the littlun as I hopped up into Harrison Park in full commuter warrior garb. Can't be bothered with civvies now that commute's grown to 16-18 miles a day.

Laidback, yep, namechecked you on another thread.
As for argyle pkace, same story every day that junction - i like the fruit shops but their attitude to parking is 'cavalier'.

Dunno who made the spot first, but Roibeard and I bumped into each other on the Union as he was returning from Sky Ride training and I was heading to the shops to get something salty, fatty and carby to heal my brutal hangover.
Note to CCE persons over the age of 25: if ruggtomcat is your guide for a night on the lash, bail at the earliest chance.

Today at the Meadows - was just getting out of the c*r when I was passed by what looked like Laidback and partner on a very stylish looking black recumbent tandem. (Didn't say hello as I only saw them after they'd passed me.) I didn't even know there were such things as recumbent tandems. Cool looking "easy rider" handlebars too. Superb!

Roibeard and daughter at Cameron Toll, from across junction. I waved a few times, but my commuter warrior disguise proved overly effective.

Sorry Uberuce, I was busy spotting a bike polo friend approaching from the right, so I'm guessing you were the cyclist going straight on past us...

Dave's wife, as she threaded her way from the Commie bike park through Roibeard, myself and his Pino.

Steveo this morning as I sat on the pavement of Lothian Road, enjoying looks of queerdom from passers-by, as I snapped pics of cycle commuters.

Uberuce reckoned we spotted Mrs Dave at the Commonwealth Pool this evening, or rather we absent-mindedly blocked the pavement staring at the Pino whilst she attempted to get past us...

They did look perplexed when I hurled a stream of obscenities at you. "Good Morning" is apparently not appreciated at 0830

A Roibeard containing peloton at the mega-crossroads near Cameron Toll. I was on the bus having failed to get out of bed for a 10 mile run in the p***ing rain for some reason.

I definitely get the feeling that cycling standards need to be maintained in Edinburgh - it's much too easy to be spotted in such as small city, particularly if one has a distinctive bike, or peloton...

MTB with a Go-Pro camera mounted low on the forks this morning, just after you come off Corstorphine path towards Balgreen Road. Rider had an apple-green waterproof and a skateboardy/BMX-style helmet.

Andy at bottom of Yeaman Place/Fountainbridge.

Andy at bottom of Yeaman Place/Fountainbridge
Ah, so it was you that said hello. I didn't recognise the bike but knew I had been spotted.

I was given a flat cap for my birthday - gilbert o'sullivan style and have a white bike, but asked forthe white bar tape to be switched to black as white tape looks rubbish once grubby and gets grubby very quickly. I had a white bike 27 years ago too, back when I didn't realise there's no virtue in always being cool

Spotted, instography on the Forth Road Bridge, then we had a lovely ride in together.

Morningsider at the top of MMW (is it NMW there?). I was admiring some of the new QBC infrastructure - snippets give cause for cheer.
Posted 12 years ago # -
2 cycle police heading down MMW and a laidback heading up. I was in disguise as a pedestrian.
(@Anth NMW runs perpendicular to MMW)

Yeah, the one with a surface and width worthy of any world class iconic city called Edinburgh.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Gotcha.
Speaking of polis... LOOOOOOOAAAAADDDDDSSSSS around the High Court - presume there's some high profile case today.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Sorry SRD... on hols today. On train now to Ladybank so was in a rush. Saw polis too but didn't stop.

Coupla non-Quentinian LBP cycle police under the Harrison Road bridge, as I was taking a pootle down the towpath to see if it's still more stressful than the road.
They were too busy talking to folk for me to ask if either was Cycle PC.

Couple on older looking tandem with drops, accompanied by 2 kids on their own kids, going through Gilmore place intersection towards meadows.
Posted 12 years ago # -
@SRD you must have just missed me, I passed them as they hung around on the Lift Bridge. Think tandem was a Thorn, blue with red tape on the drops.
