Hiya honey, thought I recognised you walking along. (aimed at SRD no offence Andy :D)

I was heading to Harrison pk to meet cycle buddies for our ride upto Bonaly past four reservours - over the pentlands past two more reservours past Flotterston. Dinner in a courtyard put off Mortonhall Campsite then back thru town and home the normal way. 67km.

I saw a recumbent rider leaving Gillmore place and turn past Kings Theatre up towards Bruntsfeild. Didn't get a clear view of the face but I thing ponytail and hair band = arlicat? twas around 17.40

It's the invisibility field, you only saw as much as you did because you have been assimalated! ;-)

DaveC, yes, that would've been me. I'd been for a pootle along the canal and was heading straight home after that. I'm in disguise today though with a French plait instead of a ponytail.

Spotted: A traffic police car as I filtered passed in the greenways on Gorgie RD to the junction at Westfield Road.
Spotted: Lad on a BSO popping up on to the pavement to go round the corner from Westfield to join Gorgie Road.
Not Spotted police car despite cars behind it passing me. I hope what I think happened did.

5 minutes later I hear the roaring of a small... Engine.. undertaking me as we approach the end of Gorgie road to go up Henderson. After Roaring passed me with all three cylinders bouncing off the bonnet, he has to pull up hard behind the car in front which had dutifully stopped at the red.

I slowly approach rear of the said small "engined" car and lean down over the handle bars, catch the drivers eye in the rear view and give him a very slow clap for his obvious effort. He turns to remonstrate with me but before he gets the chance to make his doubtlessly pithy come back I merrily filter to the front of the queue. He then surprisingly makes a safe and well mannered pass up Henderson,.

  7. I like the sarcastic hand clap, or 'Well done'.

I used the latter last night on a Mondeo driver who roared past 20 yards before dropping anchor for a queue at red lights, me filtering past about exactly 1 second later.

Saw Wingpig this morn, he spotting me despite the lack of two-wheeled conveyance betwixt my thighs...

Two people on recumbent trikes going down into the Innocent tunnel as my friend G and I were coming out of it. First time I'd ever been through the tunnel, incidentally.

I got thoroughly shown up by a very slight chap on a track bike heading along the Slateford Road. I could hear him whirring along behind me from the lights at Angle Park and he cruised effortlessly past up the rise at bottom of Shandon and over the railway bridge. It was all I could do to hold onto an approximation of his wheel, it was easier on the flat as he was getting near spinning out. Quite impressive how little he appeared to be trying though!

I've seen a chap on a track bike before. His bike made an almighty racket as he bounced over Fife's pitted roads. I though he had something loose at first until I spotted it was his solid wheel making the racket.

Oh, should have added that my Innocent tunnel spot was Saturday about lunchtime/early afternoon.

  15. I had a similar experience to kaputnik's this morning, except my chap was on a slick-tyred hybrid and wearing cords and checked shirt. I went past as we entered the park road - he effortlessly stayed on my wheel all the way through (my excuse is he had one small pannier, and was hiding from the headwind behind me - I need all the ego boost I can get).

Spotted in Plockton: very slick homebrew trike conversion.

Heard about in Plockton: blind guy navigating and stoking on tandem. Doing fine until brakes failed. Mild concussion but grand now. Intend to captain for him if brakes get fixed, for he is an old friend of my Pa.

Spotted up Bealach Na Ba. Three whippets on road bikes, one of whom had apparently big ringed it. Pretty large back cogs for a road bike, but still twice the gear I was pushing and they had another 65 miles to go, with 30 in the bag already.

He arrived at LB Bikes safely with his Planet X purchase. Nothing like pulling a trailer for fitness!

Lady of a certain age wearing a 'technical' top in Canadian colours, and riding an elderly men's Canadian-made peugeot (google + wikipedia suggest a PX-10) in blue.

Me! no one over here to spot me :)

This morning I stopped to let someone coming the other way go through the chicanes before me. He had massive ginger sideburns, which looked real. I know if I'd won Olympic gold I wouldn't celebrate it by doing the Bingham stretch of the Innocent, but perhaps he's looking for a new type of challenge.

Man with length goatee and fluo-green side-mohawk riding a very well laden Storck electric-assisst touring bike around Marchmont this lunchtime.

Brompton chainged to pedestrian crossing lights outside Napiers Herbalist at Bristo Square in such a way as to completely block the crossing. Inconsiderate at best, considering the thing is meant to fold!

Spotted a certain magician/juggler coming out of Hermits croft onto st leonards on a recumbent sans trailer. Bit of a wobbly start ;) It must be super hard to see to the right in that position - which I guess is what happened.

Also that road has been noticeably much busier in the last few months- possibly a hangover from the york place closure?
