You were none of those. I don't see you often enough for you to be a regular spotted. You're an event.

anth at work - who is - hot guy on bike with funny sunglasses? Does he have temperature control issues or do you mean he is your cup of tea despite his sunglasses?

Hot guy on bike with funny sunglasses is someone I pass most mornings, most usually at the crossing on the Innocent at Duddingston Road West.

    You've avoided answering the question...

Guy on a folding bike this morning just after 06:30AM lit up like a christmas tree. Flashing rear light on bike, flashing light on rear of high vis jacket and to top it off some sort of "bracelet" of small lights round top of each arm. No motorist could have the usual excuse of "Sorry mate, didn't see you there"

"lit up like a christmas tree" That's pretty close to my usual -- the 'bracelet' thingy is probably what I use for a trouserthingy; comes with flashing lights.

So, if I usually have front light Knog; cateye on helmet, and variety of lights on childseat, seatpost, saddlebag (depending on config), does that mean i should be scoring higher than 3 on 'luminance'?

I passed a girl yesterday morning on Dundee Street with a tail-light attached to the rocloc mechanism of her helmet. Only problem was that she also had a rucksack on that extended above the light and obscured ir completely from everyone bar someone riding alongside. Then there was the confusing girl last night with a white tail light hanging off her rucksack.

Wednesday 0845ish: almost-certain anth-on-his-way-to-work on the Peacemaker, from Hope Park Terrace on to Melville Drive (is that a new Carradice saddlebag?).

Thursday 0845ishish: possible Arellcat on a semi-bent 2-wheeler, heading east, Bruntsfield Links.

2 x Environmental Warden types with Pashley style bikes raking in a bin in Slateford about 15 minutes ago. Didn't get a good look as I was concentrating on piloting a c*r (sorry!)

That reminds me. 2 traffic wardens waving hairdryers at cars this AM outside Corstorphine Primary School.

Fortunately it wasn't pointed at me as I was blatantly powering through the 20 zone at 21.5... A shame that I had ridden in a manner to deny the Warburton's lorry up my tail a chance to pass (it's far too narrow to contemplate there, and I knew the 20 zone was imminent) otherwise he would likely have got himself a trois pois.

PC + PCSO hanging around there yesterday looking very important in their fluorescent vests.

Yup, that was me, RJ! I was actually keeping a lookout in case you were in the area but didn't positively see you. Were you borrowing Dave's invisibilitybike? :)

  13. Yip, you got me as well RJ. Loving the Carradice!

I've still (just!) got the same old Marin with fluo-yellow forks, and my front lamp has a busted switch and so is on all the time (embarassing, but the alternative is off all the time and corroded contacts when I need them ...).

(Of course, that's the cue for my C2W-scheme code to come through, releasing the new (and nowhere bright yellow) bike on to the streets ...)

On the bike on Thursday, but stealthily pedestrianised on Wednesday, with a small child as extra cover ;).

Regular school-running means I'm normally not on to the Links much before 9.00 at the moment - Thursday was a bit of an exception.

I'll try a cheery wave next time :)

Four gents on Penny Farthings entering the Innocent tunnel a short while ago. Cool!

Be interesting going back up the tunnel and though that gate at St Leonards.

Headroom, turning and a hill all at once!

They will have had the same problems going down too I guess. Looked like fun though.

Was googling penny-farthing for a picture to show small person (who wanted to know what it meant) and came up with this. Nifty!

LOL! And you have just reminded me of another spot, a guy riding through Tollcross with a unicycle strapped to his back last night. I would have been more impressed if he had been unicycling through Tollcross with a bike strapped to his back though..

There used to be a guy who quite regularly unicycled up Leith Walk.....including the roundabouts/traffic circles whatever you call'ems...scary.

A black 20" wheeled lightweight bike. Maybe a Bike Friday.

Rider has fitted Kojak tyres. See it on George IV Bridge a lot.

    Looks cool.

Saw a monster 'bent on thursday about 1830, leith walk. Space frame construction, long wheelbase (front wheel ahead of the feet) massive curving handlebars and about a million lights on the back. not very invisible atall.

You only saw it because you have been brainwashed by this site.

Bike ownership is a bit like owning a dog.

Once you have one, you start seeing everyone elses!

I saw laidback being taken for a walk by his leash once, but because I don't own a dog, I wasn't able to make out what it was attached to. You need some more lights and a bigger flag on your pooch, Mr LB. Perhaps a doggy dynamo, so us non caninists can see too.

... I grudgingly take said pooch out.

Some sort of Yorkshire Terrier that came from dog rescue on insistence of my daughter. I honestly tried everything to stop it taking up residence but I've been outmanoeuvred.
My main ally is the cat.
She has now taken over his dog basket and even ate his dog food the other day...

Rugg, that was probably me again. I'd been along Bonnington and was going to go up around Arthur's Seat, but then couldn't be bothered and went into town the direct way. Bit slow, though!

    Hah!
doesn't help that man flu has had mee off the wheels for 4 days
and I so want to get out early and test out my new so-stong-you-could-signal-the-ISS headlights of pavement lighting-not-being-seen along with my sweet-jesus-that-cyclist-blinded-me-from-the-other-end-of-Harrison-Gardens!

put it this way if you see someone with 4 rear lights (2 h****t mounted) and 4 front (1 h****t) you've seen me (until your retinas burn out)
