My regular cut through onto the south Arthur's Seat road.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

My regular cut through onto the south Arthur's Seat road.
Certainly nice to know where anth could stop by if a problem occured with his bike nearby.
Saw a chap the other day riding a red tricycle thing looked like a find piece of machinery
Also chap on a S-Works last night in full club lycra on Lothian road about 20:10
There's been a red ICE tadpole trike chained-up outside the Lothian Road Odeon for the past couple of days. Not seen it moving or occupied.
@wingpig yes it was there on monday too
Nazca Fuego in aerosteerer form, down at Seafield about 1400.
At least I'm pretty sure that was it - unless others have the same aluminium plate arrangement joining the frame.
Anyone here?
Robert
Blue adult-sized (I think) conventional tricycle outside one of the hairdessers on the Gorgie Road on Saturday morning.
Couple on a black Hase Pino (not Roibeard) on Gilmore Place heading into town, red Ortlied luggage front and rear
Also, bronze-framed Gazelle electric-assist Dutch-style hybrid bike waiting to cross South Gyle Access this morning.
Laidback and Kaputnik chatting in LB showroom this evening. I had to dash into Co op for milk (fish pie emergency) on way home.
Was trying not to be spotted as I was *cough* driving.
Actually parked almost on top of LB bike, that could have been embarrasing..........
Roibeard on Dalkeith Road, complete with race face.
cb coming up from Polworth Church on his folder.
Yesterday: Ruggtomcat, who caught me doing something very embarrassing. Also reverse spot(I think you made me first?) from Kaputnik and Anna/PineappleBikes.
Yeah, sorry for blanking you. Return spotted you just too late...
Yesterday: Ruggtomcat, who caught me doing something very embarrassing
Reading the Daily Mail? Buying a copy of Top Gear magazine?
cb: ah, but you didn't blank me - you had the expression of someone furiously trying to remember where you'd seen me before, which is all of twice. Also, your red folder is distinctive, whereas wee blue floofy needs looked at carefully before not blending in with every other hybrid, so I had a natural advantage.
Min: a big boy done it and run away.
Spotted - metallic yellow Mini Moulton (16" wheels?) chained up opposite the Earl of Marchmont this afternoon.
@Nelly then you just missed me cycling the paperbike round to return it and completely ruining the look by being in lycra, shapes, cap, helmet and cycling shoes...
@Uberuce the only evidence that I was ever on the paperbike, even if I was pushing it at the time.
Did every one see you with that paper bike, I presume you guys were just returning from the train station when I seen Anna with it.
@steveo yes it was being used for pannier porterage porpoises and then a small test run once on MMW
@Kaputnik The pal I was with said I did a huge double take after you and Anna walked down the hill. Did take me a while to process that your bike was a couple of coulours down the visible spectrum from usual.
I think I spotted that DaveC chap on the path again this morning (just after Blackhall junction, he heading east with front light on and a bit of orange hi viz?) but being late and uncertain I didn't make any acknowledgement.
Yep I saw you heading in a southerly direction. I recognised you but did wonder which route you'd taken. I guess you took a detour along the prom or Ferry Road?
I was all in black, W/Proof shorts and Gortex but felt I needed from thing bright (my free Bikability Top) so cars don't have a reason not to see me, still didn't stop the idiots in Dalgety Bay from pulling stright out at the church in my path and giving some wave as they cut me up.
DaveC was that you with a beard at about 7:20ish on the Roseburn path?
@DaveC Parked at Barnton and went along prom all the way to the end of the Hawthornvale path and back into town. 12 miles. Only slightly shorter than direct cycle from home to work but has more options for shortening / lengthening as the mood and weather allow. Also blasted along the prom with my mate Neil leapfrogging your time by 2 seconds. It's a battle!
You mean I've been beaten along the Prom, Dange! I shall pick up your guantlet and hand it back to you as I been your time! ;0)
Bruce, Beard is stretching it some, I have some facial hair but more heavy stubble rather than a full on Beard. 07.20 would be about right... hang on Roseburn path? Hmmm My route took me past Silverknowles, Blackhall, Craigleith jnct, Crewe Toll (passing Insto), Edin north Sub to 5 ways and up to Cannonmills... I think of Roseburn as the path past Murrayfeild?
DaveC must not have been you I head down the Russell road way onto Roseburn at about that time and back up at 18:00
Cyclists I see alot are:
Ginger Gandlaf riding a Ribble
Single sided fork cyclist, shouted at me once for not going left quick enough
@DaveC
Not by me. Not for another 4 seconds. It was Neil.
Steveo on stenhouse though I shouted Stepdoh at you then raced along the path whilst you persevered with the road, as stated on this very forum the surface is shan....?
thebikechain. Although I was in The Bike Chain.
Silly whuuuuuumwumpwumpwumpwUUUBZRZRRZRZRRZZMGRRDDDcow, that doesn't count. That'd be like Greenroofer making a spot on me inside the sprogletwrangling corral.
Steveo on stenhouse
Gembo, I didn't recognise you at first. I turn off at the first junction so joining that "cycle" path and then getting off it for one block is just far too much hassle. The surface is OK up until the other side of the junction at the govnt building then its completely disintegrating.
