I've realised that the dynamo lights and trailer put me at a terrific disadvantage in the spotted stakes...

You said something not unlike that 91 pages ago...

Possible spot on gembo's pal that I briefly met in the Golden Rule; heading up Ashley Terrace with a guitar box slung on his back. I bet it had a guitar in it. I know his type. Or if it was merely another chap of similar build, facial bone structure and sinously twisting hair, I know that guy's type instead.

kaputnik cycling home in the utterly biblical deluge this evening - 5.30ish, filtering the traffic toward makro.

I passed you on the dual carriageway where scottish courage used to be - I was on a driving day - considered shouting some 'pay road tax' abuse at you so you got the full driver experience ;-)

p.s. Driving in the rain - total pita, everyone slows to a crawl, 100% sure you would have got home before I even got to the west approach road.....grrrrrrrrrrr

@uberuce that is correct, at work with his lucky lecky guitar, he is also pal of recombodna's it is

    A. A very good spot as you met him briefly in the rule

    Or

    B. a technically illegal spot within the rules of Spottington Crescent as he doesn't even lurk on here but he will drink beer

I will plead my case for A, since we are also allowed Spots of bike/riders not assumed to be Urbanum Fietanauts a la Von Edinburgh.

Happy to give you A as it is not a competition, tho some get spotted more than others

I've seen two Bullets in the past week! One lastnight heading south over the FRB with a box on the front with seating for children! I gave him a thumbs up, I'd love one if I had childcare transport duties. The other one I saw was a delivery bike heading through the meadows on Monday as we returned from the Sick Kids. I'd love a shot on one, anyone know where they sell them and if we can have a go?

@wingpig, not me I'm afraid. Haven't been out yet (working from home).

Kaputnik/Roibeard spot (although I think he got me first).

I'm putting it down to him being in mufti - non-yellow bike and lidless.

Oh and I was admiring the bike rather than noticing the rider!

As if having a doppelgänger wasn't bad enough you appear to have one who is based close by. One of my second-year flatmates had two almost identical decoys living within half a mile.

Hmm. Maybe there's a 'bearded child wrangling cyclist' vibe going down in Leith these days.

If you broaden it out to cargonauts in general that could include cargo bikes, trailers.....then you may have enough bods.

@Roibeard from your expression, I was under the impression that you hadn't recognised me in my camouflage and were just humouring the strange cyclist who waved at you by similing back!

@Crowriver, my Dutch has failed me. I thought bakfiet was already the generic term for cargo bike - I guess it's specific to the big-buckety ones?

Yarp, I had in mind anything with an unusually large carrying capacity, being brought round for the entertainment and inspiration of those who don't already own such a device.

@recombodna and gembo: Saw him again just now, swapped a wave for a nod. No guitar that I could see.

Spotted on the way to ordering my Brompton from BikeTrax, a family group that I would bet the new Brompton on being Mr SRD and coxsweans inspecting a bench with 'Wet Paint' written on it. Factors in my confidence about it being them are that (a) it was just near Zazou (b) they had a Helios tandem (c)There was a very small coxswean stamping in a puddle and a larger one supervising (d) the gentleman in charge of the Helios was at the taller end of the spectrum. It was only as I was too far past to stop conveniently that I put a - d together to reach the conclusion above.

On the way back from ordering the Brompton (Black M6R, since you ask) Uberuce northbound going across the lights at the top of Ashley Terrace. I was hiding at the front of the westbound queue on Colinton Road in a fluorescent top, but I don't think he saw me.

Indeed I did not, mea culpa. I'd witnessed some pretty daft driving from the operator of the white Golf nearby and was keeping a weather eye on said individual's device.

Indeed he did. Hope you enjoy it!
I never seem to spot people, even though I live in the area to do so.

I did think I detected an indulgence in the eyeroll of Mrs. Greenroofer as I apologised...

It is indeed. I was greenlighted on a Visa spend one day and failed to take the chance. That door has not reopened since.

Quite a lot of people spotted him outside waitrose the other week but he wasn't panicking. I will try to persuade him to join so e can see what we are saying about him
