I've been busy at work and neglecting some threads. I knew there was a PY meet but didn't know it was tomorrow! I'm considering going in even earlier to try hacking at a few trees on the way in which are blocking the paths. Please tee me its still PY as last Folding meet up I spend a lonesome 3/4 hour in PY whilst the rest were at the floating cafe.

Coming home (slowly) on Broomhouse path tonight, man on fixed infront got off and started to push. He didn't check tyres (both of which looked solid as I passed) so I'm assuming that he had given up in the wind.

Not sure how it was tonight, but yesterday lunchtime was unquestionably the hardest battle I've ever fought from the Gyle to home. If I hadn't made the jump to lightSPD for wee blue floofy too I think I might have been joining that fella.

Mr SRD, just as I was walking out of the Co-op.
Wednesday: lovely chap on a blue Flying Scot, as I headed to The Bike Station to get some hefty steveo bags. He was emphatically imformed that I was impressed with his steed.
Possible rule-infraction spot: Morningsider, as I was going from PY-TBS to return the Bullitt. If you were heading to the cargomoot, then sorry you missed it, and that Spot doesn't count.

@ubes did the blue flying scot chap happen not to be wearing a helmet ? Either naked or little chapeau dependent on elements. If this description fits then he probably shares bike's he'd with me and Clive dunn

Head was clad only in hair of the elder variety.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Chdot and a pal on morningside road about 2:45 .

When you say elderly you mean fifties?
Posted 12 years ago # -
Elder in the sense that it was either grey or white but I can't remember which.

Saturday morning, around 9,30am, I think I spotted Min in disguise as a pedestrian. I was on the tandem with No.1 son stoking, as we passed onto McDonald Road the incognito Min was waiting at the red man to cross. Certainly reverse spotted the two of us, though facial expression was more "do I know him/them?" than "Aha! Spotted you!"

Kaps swiped past me at pedestrian crossing on his way to the broom house path. I was then almost taken out at Bankhead past stevenson, going straight on, I could hear car revving so I half expected the left hook cut up. Guy waiting to turn right in white car agreed with my incredulity which was slightly mock as I had an inkling what was coming, but also adrenaline pumping through me.

steveo, Chesser Avenue this evening - was that your new light?

I don't think I quite recognised Gembo at first out of Team Tunnocks getup and I had the feeling that I sneaked passed him out of Team Spam gear. The mutual recognition coming as a delayed reaction and only after we had passed.

Kaputnik maybe we need long sleeved team colours?
Posted 12 years ago # -
Nelly, nah that's still last years. I have plans for my battery and dynamo weapons but I'm currently trying to wrap my head around a decent rear light after my cherry bomb went AWOL.

@Gembo, Team CCE cycling caps could be more affordable?

Must buy that to make my huge Heid look like a tunnocks teacake

Leaving work yesterday and today has provided good spotting opportunities.
ruggtomcat on foot last night, and wingpig sprinting across the junction at the former Dick Vet.

Spotted our man in black proceeding in a westerly direction down Spylaw Road while I was going up towards Bruntsfield about teatime.
Yesterday stopped to have a chat with my Brompton friend Wendy, as I was chasing cars on Morningside Road.

I'll review my footage to see if you were somewhere I should have spotted/acknowledged you.

I think I spotted Mr Roibeard this morning, tooling up Minto Street. It was the not-very-fluorescent-anymore helmet cover that I noticed first! I was hiding amongst traffic on West Mayfield, and in disguise on the motorbicycle.

Spotted Mr recumbent tricycle (no one on here as far as I know) last night - have not seen him for a while.
Posted 12 years ago # -
@Arellcat - potentially bogus spot this time, as it's not become cold/wet enough for the helmet cover.
Unless it was so non-fluorescent as to be just the blue/white helmet.
Location is correct though if it was about 0855.

If AlanR now has a fairing for his trike then I spotted him at the top of Robertson Avenue night before last.
Posted 12 years ago # -
@Roibeard, there was definitely a left-side yellow Ortlieb and a hi-viz vest. Maybe I'm projecting long term memory on short term memory!

@Arellcat
*tips hat*
Has to have been me - I must have been truly intent on making the green light, as I didn't even glance your way.

Unspotted: I was foldering through haymarket and waverly this morning, saw a few bikes but none I recognized :(

This morning the red light camera flashed at the junction of Slateford Road and Ardmillan Terrace.
The only thing moving at the time that I could see that may have triggered it was the man on slick-tyred MTB in the lime green jacket, who had passed beyond the second line of the ASL before stopping.

Not sure if this is cheating, but I met both Dave and Min last night at Laid Back Bikes - double spot?
Very nice to meet you both, in any event.
