Welcome to the forum NiallA!
Another new name for others to spot.
Shop was busy last night - Arellcat was there as well.
Would open a cafe but Pastures wouldn't be happy.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Laidback's shop is becoming a regular drop-in centre for unrecovered or untreatable bikeaholics!
Spotted robbers on pino with junior stoker and junior racer beside going down the mound about 1.30 said to thing two and thing three - that man is called roibeard (shouted tho of course should have shouted robert not roibeard
A pino not occupied by Roibeard on the Drylaw path.
@gembo - sorry, very focused on descending safely, so unless you were clad in steel, or looked like you might stray in front of us, you didn't register!
@wingpig - I keep hearing that there are a few in Edinburgh, but sightings are rare, so bonus points for you.
I'd love to meet the owners, so if they're ever spotted again, feel free to point them at me...
Robert
Not in Edinburgh, but in London outside the Barbican after the bike film festival screening there was the same small-wheeled recumbent that Arellcat has (P-38?) but with a streamlined fairing box like Dave used to have on his frankenlowrider. It also had a nice sounding horn.
Also saw quite literally the narrowest fixie bars I have ever seen, just two tiny handles projecting out the stem and a TT-style brake lever jammed in each bar end. It was curious indeed as bike had both brakes and two working derailleurs operated by downtube shifters. Each to their own, but his stability getting away from the lights made him a complete liability.
Jeez the guy on the skinny bike better not come to Edinburgh, there is a taxi driver waiting to film him
Hi NiallA, nice to meet you too. Hope you are enjoying the bike!

I could give up any time I want to. I just don't want to.
Man on bike with child (about 3) on back.
Like rucksack with legs hanging out.
A child carrier I've not seen before or homemade??
Le vache Wilmingtonique, between High St and Spittal St. He doesn't check over his shoulder very often.
Yesterday I saw a family of 5 on 3 bikes, One was the blue tri-cycle I saw commuting the other week I think, Mum riding pulling 2 younger ones facing rearwards, one child on their own bike under own steam, father on a nifty tiny-framed folder pulling lunch I'm guessing.
They were heading down the innocent tunnel - I was out cleaning my CX bike in prep for racing - because it needs to be as clean as possible before it gets dirty.
Looks like they were going to have a lovely day out.
"He doesn't check over his shoulder very often"
Was no need this morning - Spidey sense gave me the cyclist alert, quick check crossing the George IV Bridge junction (to make sure no-one was about to left hook), can hear traffic behind on the way up to Johnston Terrace cos of the really rough surface, then heading downhill there was a convenient low sun behind so saw your shadow all the way following me down.
Now a shoulder check would have told me who was behind, but your presence was certainly noted.
I could have been the driver of PN03 CWJ, in disguise, on a bike. I had a throatful of phlegm when I caught you up on the High St. so didn't attempt speaking.
Annoying that even when I'm feeling quite good on the climb I'm still slower than a phlegm-mouthed-wingpig. :(
Min, northbound, as I had bought milk in Lidl and was about to start off southbound. I liked the black & white theme from cap to panniers!
Robert
Ah, I didn't spot you back this time, makes a change! I am impressed that I accidentally managed to colour co-ordinate, yay me!
Just checked the pig cow thing was yesterday as I shouted WC at WC going down johston's Tce this am and on wingpig to be seen
I think I need to head into town more oftern, I haven't spotted anyone in ages.
In contrast - you were spotted by me and shouted at even at Tesco.
Did I pass Gembo this morning hding ninja-style behind a buff pulled up to (but not over) his eyes? Or was that some other Broomhouse path user with yellow Ortliebs?
oh and i passed you Andy yesterday at the Kings junction/Gilmore place.
As long as you weren't going the same way as me, that is allowed :)
Aha! I did here the shout directed my way, but only caught a glimpse of the shouter, so apologies for not reciprocating!
Yep I saw and heard you Mark. Going in for your breakfast?
Oh yeh and the lady I was stood next to on a black Cannondale (black tights, skirt and yellow top) who managed to ride up Bellevue quite fast, slowed down at a red light long enough to ensure it was clear before continuing to ride through it. THIS MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!!!!! and my tougue still hurts from where I had to bite it as I caught her and thought better of yelling abuse at her!
Yep I saw and heard you Mark. Going in for your breakfast?Nope. Just needed the cash machine.
I spotted a guy with great big metal spikes in his troosers. I was really hoping he didn't fall off!
Also Dave with what looked like a h*lm*t mounted camera - off recording some more "facilities"?
Also a woman who keeps sprinting past me on hills, only to flag very quickly, allowing me to easily cruise past her. I'm not into silly commuter racing - except when that happens!
@ Kapps
I was on Broomhoouse Path this morning but came off at saughton house junction and then over to corstorphine and up clermiston road. I have had the buff on round my neck a couple of times lately but this morning just the jacket zipped up. One yellow ortlieb only.
as an aside I love the descent from top of clermiston road down to corstorphine then along traquair and back to the saughton path I am certain if I raced a colleague in a car from say Fox Covert Primaries I would beat the colleague back to our office.
Instography heading upto Charlotte sq from Queen street at 13 minutes past 5 this evening. I was at the red light heading for the circuses and the west end.
Ant - even stopped for a quick blether and camera inspection. It's on filum and everyfink
