  1. Mentioned at PY this morning that a few of us were drooling over a Flying Scot frame that Soul Cycles posted on their FB page last night. Said that details were to follow today... Well...

"Flying Scot Continental Model with Reynolds 531 tubing. Seat tube is 23 and a half inch with a 23 inch top tube. seat post and stem are moving freely. Paint work is okay but a wee bit rusty in some places. Also comes with Milremo stem, bars, seat and post. Singlespeed Sachs chainset, Weinmann brake calipers and Tange headset. On sale for £195"

I'm going to take a gander at lunchtime (if it's not already gone).

Met a guy at L'Eroica with a lovely old Flying scot. He got it from a garage clearout for free in ayrshire somewhere. He said he had to have the stays replaced coz they were rusty he then crashed it and had the top tube and down tube replaced..... still a flying scot though.......

There was a Flying Scot (also single speed) in the window of Eastside Bikes last time I checked.

Don't think that one was for sale but they did get some Flying scot frames in recently.

  5. Seriously tempted. It's not perfect, but it's oh so nice...

  6. I'm going to regret this when I see someone else riding it - but I'm going to pass. Lovely though it is, the downtube paintwork ain't perfect, and would bug me I think, and it's almost twice as much as the budget I had for replacing my dead fixed frame, since it's going to be a beater anyway. The Scot deserves better.

Scot should be lovingly restored and ridden for occasion, not ridden into the ground and unloved. Anyway Wilmington's Anth, you still have at least one other vintage bike restoration project to complete before you start setting your sights on a Scot!

Speaking of flying Scots, I'm off somewhere else to find some sun for a change. I'll be observing radio silence whilst away, so won't be on here (or the internet in general) for about three weeks. See you all when I get back.

    Toodle Pip!
