Well, in the end it only took 9 months for the Carry-Freedom Y-Frame to turn a profit, after we took it to Arran instead of the car last weekend:

The ferry crew were pretty unfazed, although to be honest it was slightly nerve-wracking as the number of ordinary cyclists kept rising as we waited to board... must have been about ten plus ourselves, and I didn't want anyone to end up being left out.

Also, the bunkhouse we stayed at was not at sea level as the map suggested, but up a side road which went up the best part of 200', was barely surfaced & maxed out at 24.5 degrees.

I had to take half the stuff off the trailer just to *walk* up the hill dragging it behind me.

    Fun on the way home!

Ace and win! I admire your double recycle box kungfu.

For those not blessed with a council providing workable recycling facilities, a pair of these from b&q fits well. Pricey, mind.
