Haven't seen them myself, but a reliable cycling source left a message on our answer-phone yesterday saying that the eggs of the swans nesting near Viewforth bridge have hatched!

That's cool! That must be the first lot for a few years.

Two years ago we saw 2 nests and at least one bunch of cygnets, but further down nr Craiglockhart & the aqueduct. No small influence on us moving there, but last year we didn't see any, although they seemed to be nesting down near the Viewforth bridge.

I have seen nests and cygnets at Viewforth every year (I think) although I have to admit it has been a few years since I walked along to Viewforth every day, stares off into distance ah, thems were the days...
