Anth has made an announcement here...

    The end is nigh

CityCycling magazine has been one of the good things all discerning cyclists have enjoyed for a few years now. It's even read in the Netherlands at http://www.ligfiets.net
Once gone it will be a hard act to follow.

CityCycling magazine was Anth's unique idea. In fact I only caught up with it at issue 3 or 4 and was amazed that such a publication had already appeared. Anth's idea was to encourage others to express themselves with useful and entertaining articles. (He did make the odd exception for me!)

The site will continue so the CityCycling idea will live on.

This doesn't affect the forum AFAIK

That's a shame but all good things must come to an end..............which is why I though city cycling would go on forever!! Boom Boom!!
Seriously though folks it is a shame and good luck to Anth on his future pojects.

Aw. Well there is no point in carrying on if you're not enjoying it any more.

very sorry to hear this. I have enjoyed the last 3 or 4 issues a lot. some good reading, and far more stylishly designed than anything I usually read. but was disappointed that Uneasy Riders was not a regular feature. And now I guess here will be no more?

  7. Awww, folks are so sweet... :)

SRD, Uneasy Riders was something I'd planned a couple of years back, but the graphic novel look of it was slightly time consuming (more so because it looked very different to everything else). I'm considering getting a whole story written and storyboarded and doing a 'print on demand' book for it - something I wouldn't have had the time for before, but I might now.

And then the new format citycycling (currently looking at a multi-contributor blog type thing (with all the old issues archived of course to read whenever)) will announce that.

    Probably.

As Min says, no point carrying on something you don't enjoy - particularly when it's entirely voluntary. There are aspects I still love, but getting it onto the 'page' every month just felt more and more like a chore, and I'm looking forward to moving onto a couple of new and different things once the last issue is online.

Sad news, I would be sorry to see it go, it is a really good read, as so refreshing compared to the other "cycling" mags out there.

Now I feel guilty for not finishing the article I promised.

And also very very sad about the end.
