CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Saw it up close this morning. Have let the Zoo know where it was
Any chance you can PM me scotti? I was planning an early morning scout with the big lens (see if I can get the Figgy otter again as well).
PM Sent
as seen earlier today
Well it was still on the loose when I passed back alng the Prom last night. It seemed quite happy roosting up in the trees. It had gathered a fair sized crowd too.

CHERRY the Ibis was causing a flap when it appeared at Silverknowes beach yesterday, as efforts to recapture the escaped animal continued.

Beached pilot whale at Cramond today caused the foreshore esplanade path to be blocked of. As I arrived here just after 6 the poor animal was being removed by tractor. This despite the best efforts all day from British Divers Marine rescue for most of theday.Detour by Lauriston Farm road and Cramond Road North. Unusually large number of cyclists therefore going this road route.
Out of curiosity and the nice weather I went along to Cramond yesterday after work. Found the 300m exclusion zone being enforced by Police Scotland somewhat over the top considering the width of the promenade and the general lack of people around, especially as you had to detour quite significantly back on the main roads to get around.
Not seen it myself by a great northern diver's been spotted off portobello.
(The soon-to-be seven year old has shown herself to have better literary taste than might be expected from her previous fondness for 'the problem with' books and the Bobbsey twins suggested, and we have spent the weekend arguing about who is reading coot club and who is reading the big six. Perhaps great Northern should be next?)
Great Northern? isn't the best of the Swallows & Amazons books, IMHO, but it is the only one set in Scotland...
Hawfinch spotted from the attic in the gutter of roof over our kitchen. Like a heavyweight chaffinch with stripes on wings and one mother of a beak.
Quite rare around these parts if not exactly exotic
@gembo
Rarely seen even where they are commoner it would seem. Excellent spot. I am jealous.
Three on the lymphoy in flight spotted by my bird spotting pal. He was telling me about them at farmers market, when I went home looked out window and saw one in gutter. My pal insists now I text him if I see it again and he us coming straight round
