On Saturday 22nd September between 11:45am and 4pm Lothian Buses will open its doors to the public at their Central Depot, 55 Annandale Street, Edinburgh. Entrance is free and it is anticipated 2-3K people will go along. This is part of the Cockburn Association’s Doors Open Day. You can see more information at http://www.lothianbuses.co.uk
Lothian and Borders Police will have a couple of Road Safety Awareness stands at the event
At one of the demonstrations PC Bruce Burt and Paul Baker will be encouraging members of the public to sit in the driver’s seat of a bus (stationary) to raise awareness of visibility issues. We are looking for experienced cyclists willing to pass on their expertise to others in the cycling community. Are you able to work with us and offer your time (30 minute slots) and bike to cycle up either side of the bus allowing the public to appreciate what the bus drivers can and cannot see with their mirrors.
If you are able to help Bruce and Paul fill the following slots we would really appreciate your contribution. The slots will be as follows and if you are feeling very keen you can offer to do more than one.
11:45-12-30 (Slot 1)
12:30-13:00 (Slot 2)
13:00-13:30 (Slot 3)
13:30-14:00 (Slot 4)
14:30-15:00 (Slot 5)
15:00-15:30 (Slot 6)
15:30-16:00 (Slot 7)
If you are able to help out just reply on this thread which slot/s you want. This will let others see what still needs filled.
