I have a pair on my Specialised Langster, which has almost zero clearance under the brakes and at the bottom bracket. I have 25c Gatorskins and the guards just make it but it's so tight that if I pick up a little stone on the tyre, I can hear it scuffing on the underside of the guard. So, should fit if you have 25c tyres or smaller.

My bro-in-law has the very same bike with the very same mudguards, so - yeah.

I've got a pair and the appear quite flimsy when you unwrap them but they are very good.

    Two points.

You will be lucky with 25 tyres at 110psi, but to be fair there is a warning on the packaging.

And, the pads that attach to your forks and stays work very well, but have a bad habit of trapping muck and moving, meaning scratches on your frame when time comes to take the guards off come the spring. I put insulating tape on the frame first and that works.

That said they are are a wonderful piece of engineering, much better and cheaper than the SKS and Giant I had tried before. I am into my third season with them. They last.

yeah they'll fit. Just! You eventually get used to the sound of mud / grit / leaves / grass / general detritus getting stuck between the guard and the tyre.

Nearly bought these at the weekend, just wondering if they'll fit on my badboy 9 rigid with marathon plus tyres....

Badboy is a 26" wheel, no? I very much doubt it. They are 700c only, and really will only take a 23 or 25mm tyre.

My bad boy came with 700c wheels, currently sporting 700x28c marathons plus.

I've heard it can be a challenge to find mudguards that will fit though!

I have had these on the bike for a few weeks now.

Fitting was not as difficult as I had imagine but setting the time aside with a clear work are is important.

The front mech guard did not need to be trimmed either.

You do end up with a lot of spray out of the sides but all in all it makes the clean down of the bike a lot quicker and easier

@Chimpofdoom in that case I'm still not entirely sure the Crud Mk. 2s will fit a 28mm tyre, ther's quite a wide flange on the rear drive side to keep spray out of the mech and it may end up fouling the tyre. Even on a 23mm tyre they do a lot of rubbing.

However, that said, one manufacturer's 25mm tyre can be the same as another's 28mm, so if you want to give it a try, I have a set currently not attached to a bike if you want to have a trial before you shell out for a pair?

@Kaputnik - I eventually took the trusty steed to Evans cycle shop on the way home one evening. They agreed that they wouldn't fit.

Ended up with a topeak defender on the rear until I find a better one!

I bought SKS full length guards and managed to fit them on my old mountain bike, since I go down the Water of Leith on my commute. But the chain ring still got very muddy.

I've now added a section of plastic mineral bottle to the bottom of the front guard, with duck tape, with just an inch or so clearance from the ground.

It looks really stupid. But it works like magic. I hardly ever have to wash the bike down now.

Ocasionally it crunches going up or down a kerb, but since it costs nothing in time or money to replace it there's no problem.

There'll be a £25 version in a cycle shop somewhere soon I expect......

There's a bike a few of us have seen around Edinburgh that has plastic milk bottles for front downtube crudcatchers. I think there's one under the rack, but I forget.

Have you tried cutting out the middle man and just using a fold of duck tape as the flap, rufus? I hazard a guess that between its own rigidity and the weight of the muck it'll accrue almost instantly that it'll hang down enough to need no additional stiffening.

Sorry, Dave! Was kicking myself for not using my spare Friday morning to go and get a pair. I reckoned I could put it off till this week since the forecast was dry. Wrong.

I also need a front mudguard for wintersaurus; the one it had on until yesterday doesn't fit the studded 35mm tyres.
