LOts of decisions are being made about cycling at the moment. Edinburgh's lookng at implementing the ATAP and also trying to decide how to make Leith walk work again. The Scottishgoverment's preparing their draft budget. And we all want to see a golden OLympic legacy!

Pop wants to help you have a say in these decisions, so the ever resourceful Kaputnik has designed some snazzy postcards and we're organising a few mass postings - the Edinburgh one will be at 11am at the Hannover Street golden postbox -- with just enough time for lunch before the Chris Hoy Parade!

Please come and write your own message to Council, your MSPs, or any other decision-makers. It would help if you could bring your own stamps! We'll have postcards. Although you're welcome to bring your own hand-drawn ones too, if you're feeling creative.

If you can't make the event, but want to send a card, pm me and I'll see if I can get some to you. For those of you outside Ednburgh, there are also events in Glasgow, Dumfries, and Dunblane. Or, you could organise your own!

The events are all on Sunday 16th September.

We must have got 300-400 cards written I guess yesterday? Anyone got the numbers?

Good work everyone :D It's fantastic it's happening in other towns too.

    Thanks SRD & POP :)

PS There's a : missing in the http:// bit of your second link.

PPS I've a pair of scissors and some POP laminated posters I need to give back to you SRD. Can I pop up and leave them outside your office some time?

yes. Thanks! Wall looks bare w/out posters. You can even ignore the big 'PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB' sign. Scissors not mine though.

@lionfish The scissors are Kaputnik's, I borrowed them for POP and never managed to give them back...

Thanks for all your help yesterday - sorry to bail out a bit early but I'm glad I left loads of time to get my train as I *still* got lost cycling to Haymarket. I made the obvious beginner error of following the signs that helpfully sent me completely the wrong way.

@SRD: The "PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB" sign was quite intimidating, so I left the posters and scissors outside. :) Also I could hear busy typing from inside - which sounded very industrial and work related (although it could have been CCE-related :P).

I left the scissors as I figure you'll be more likely to get them back to kaputnik than myself.

that's fair! You were there all day!

Good stuff Edinburgh! Blame it on the trambles [I like that word, first chance to use it though].

I'd not really been that way before... We'd normally go along Gorgie road from our flat to the station.
