The Olympic gold medallist and US Open champion said having such a tennis centre would make a big difference for promising young players in Scotland.

And today it emerged the favoured site is the former Dunfermline College of Education at Cramond. Although homes have been built on part of the site, 15 acres of land was reserved for sporting purposes.

Maybe, but unfortunately Sean Connery didn't show up (with Alex Ferguson in tow) to support Chris Hoy and Team GB.

Blanket media coverage for Murray's homecoming in Dunblane, next to zero (except for local) for Hoy et al in Edinburgh.
