NMS Wheels and Wings Show - East Fortune - This Sunday

We're out with a couple of trikes to make a small non-powered presence.
Will have a pull up stand - modest to invisible!
Last year we had a lot of trike demos - children and adults.

For anyone cycling in area expect heavier traffic.

    Pondering attendance, weather permitting...

Hmm might have to have a wonder over as we missed Leuchars last weekend.

I had planned to give the new Croix its first leg-stretcher with the Portovelo boys, but I could easily be persuaded to RV with Darkerside and DaveC and thence go see LaidBack and the whooshy skythings.

I can make a +1 for Sunday. East Fortune is always worth a visit.

The event is 10 till 5.
Dave... I expect to head out from shop at 8. May have Rich with us. Want to set up 9.30

Other forumers welcome.... If you do arrive as general public you may well be dicouraged from cycling to our stand... :-(
Tell them you're with LB but you may still have to pay once event is open. (Apart from Darkersider who can say his bike is for stand. A Croix de Fer is nice to see too of course)

Once at stand you can cycle though. Last year it was a bit of a mix as bikes weren't cordoned off. We have insurance but that only reaches to edge of our area.

I can get into Waverley for 0850. Anyone else fancy convoying across? Potential bonuses include using the Recumbent Effect to get into the event whilst remaining mounted. Possible downsides include getting horribly lost.

There's theory, and then there's applying that theory in the big wide world...

It's not that possible to get lost in East Lothian.

8.50 at Waverley suits me dandy. I'll be the one that looks like Uberuce.

"I'll be the one that looks like Uberuce."

No-one else does that's for sure.

Though of course people will be looking out for the bike not the rider...

As I firmly believe in delegation of responsibility, I'll be the one standing outside boots with an orange recumbent.

I'll try my best to neither look like Uberuce or have an orange recumbent. But don't make any promises.

Look forward to seeing you all. You might outnumber us then!

Ben and Joe from The Bike Works say they'll look in too...

Rather ace event, and a nigh-perfect cycling day. Ended up staying till the end because it turns out to be fun helping folk try out those magnificent machines.

I think I like my new bike. Not 100% sure.

LaidBack: there's a few pictures of the Hase and Nazca Gaucho on my photostream there, but like an eejit I didn't get any of the ICE or Feugoes. Like another eejit I left my SD card in my computer this morning but was able to buy a cheapie one in WH Smiths in Waverley. I've put that in my wallet now, so if you'd like the originals remind me to hand them over at the Earl.

Favourite moment of the day was when a woman asked me what the biggest kid you can fit on it is. "Me."

Great to see so many people trying out bikes.. did anyone get a picture of the queue I wonder? We ere so busy that we barely stopped all day. Not a tweet was tweeted.

Big thanks to Darkersider and Bruce for helping out. We had two trikes a tandem and two bents. All of them were in action. Without yourselves Mts LB, LB's brother and Rabid Hamster I think we would have not been able to handle it!

Enjoyed the ride back in. Except my legs started to give up after Musselburgh - Audax damage (!)

The Croix de Fer was nice to see and ride. Seemed to be going well back into town!

Hope Kaputnik is ok ... he didn't show at Waverley...

Kappers slept in, the idle fop.

That last sentence in my previous post is talking about the Helios tandem.

Yes I shamefully slept through my alarm and everything, all the way to 1PM! Must have been tired or something, although I shouldn't be given amount of sleep I've been having lately.

Less sleeping, more cycling needed, perhaps.

Yup, much fun had by all. The red trike is staggeringly good fun to play on. Hope the tyres survived...

What's the commission rate for sales made? :p

If we do get a sale I'll let you know and work out a rate...:-)

Generally though we've found that although people seem entbhused it rarely goes further. The show is fun do to and confirms we are vehicles. The driver of the people float thing confirmed that too. Turns out though that he shouldn't have been using that route.
Did at least allow those going from car park to see us.

NMS reckoned it had better profile than last year. Taking the fun fair away meant crowd was smaller but not distracted - and a lot better off!
