    GWS, fimm!

I haven't quite decided about tomorrow. If I can drag myself out early enough then perhaps I'll give the monstrousbike a whirl.

We could compare it to the evenmoremonstrousbike. :-)

Be interesting to see any other dual occupancy vehicles and just generally catch up.

I'll bring the car, it can basically manage two people and a toddler and is smaller than the monstrousbike...

Forecast's wet (although I don't like to trust even the 'tomorrow morning's forecast')... have had a couple of quite damp ones this week already.

Urm...where is everybody? I asked DaveC where it was, but there's no-one here except this big robot taking rock samples. Nice red sunrise, though.

I'll give it ten more minutes.

  15. Well if you hadn't been roving about and just come to PY... ;)

That has to have been the strangest collection of bikes. Funny though that with the weather no-one was that bothered/keen to get out and try and of the tandem varieties. I've still not enticed anyone into stoking the Pino - may just collar anyone I see riding home.

BIG turnout this morning though, which given the weather proves we're all either completely daft, or 'ard as nails. Some new faces too. Wahey!

Great turnout, especially considering how horrible it was. Great to see so many cool tandems.

Shame I'm having to head away early today, otherwise I would have loved a wee shot on the Pino.

Thanks to Crowriver and SRD + kids for hanging on so I had some company. One day I will make it for a reasonable time. Still managed to see laidback's recumbent tandem - a work of madness/genius if I have ever seen one.

I was quite keen to have a go on something. I should have asked. I would have helped if I hadn't felt that I'd abused my boss's good nature enough already this week with the Saga Of The Wisdom Tooth...

It was nice to meet Hankcheif and small Hankcheif, I hope he enjoyed it. I don't think I would have managed small Hankchief's seat, though...

Laidback, I thought afterwards that the person you really want on the back of your recumbent tandem is my boyfriend. He's shorter than me, and therefore light, but has plenty of power, due to having grown up in Austria and spent lots of time cycling up alpine passes (in order to descend very fast, I think). I don't think he'd cope with not being in control of the vehicle, though...

Grumpy I missed it - it was forgetting my keys on Wednesday that scuppered my timings.

Sorry we missed you Bruce, were you are Zazou (canal Cafe) whilst we were at PY? I did that a month ago... I don't recall receiving a message from you?? (runs off to check email, Twitter and PMs.

Lovely to see some old faces and sorry I missed the introductions to the new faces. I should hacve cycled in yesterday, it was much nicer than this morning.

Nice to meet / see so many at the first tandem meet. be good to do another one where we do north Edinburgh path to Cramond or something. Then can do some more try outs of the various machines on the prom. I am happy to let people have a shot of the Quetzal on the back - not too scary. That's what Min said anyway.

Shots are bit blurry but you get the gist. Another dark, wet day.

I guess that when you have a tandem meet you get twice the human attendance for the same number of wheeled objects.

Good to make it to my first PY meet.

I think it helped Hankchief jnr to see that it isn't just daddy that puts kids on the back of a tandem in the wet and dark.

I propose the theme of the next PY/Zazou meet should be to decide what the theme of the one after that is.

I am definitely impressed by the versatility of the Helios. It's the work of seconds to go from Mini-SRD to Uberuce in terms of saddle height and handlebar angle(which we didn't bother with in the photo here) and the work of minutes to move the pedals along the adjusters.

I meant to ask (seeing as this thread isn't quite gone yet), why is the "monstrousbike" so big? Does it give a smoother ride, or something?

I think we should do trailers, that way I might get round to building mine.

Or mountain bikes.... Just for the LOLz...
