Have a strange urge to ride over the Forth Road Bridge to fife then get the train home on Monday. Could anyone suggest a good destination. Not looking for an all day thing, just to fill up the morning.

Had a look on cyclestreets at places on the fife train loop and though dalgety bay or burntisland? Any better suggestions?

Think I'd turn left after the Bridge and follow the coast (where possible) inc. Culross, and/or West Fife Way.

No, that's turn right after the bridge.

I know Aberdour is right after the bridge.
When did I say it was left? When?

All I said was it has a nice beach...

    True, you just confused me.

Though you were wondering if Aberdour was near Culross "if I am thinking of the right place"...

No train home from Culross {love that it is pronounced Cooross}. Can very easily push on from there to Stirling mostly off road if you fancy then get train home. Takes 3 hours [tho if not wholly familiar with route 4 hours for getting lost, the Round The Forth Map helps]. Train home from Stirling easy. Culross has great cafe upstairs from the art/pottery shop. Also very orange house. Also first mine shaft to go under water. Battle of Longannet in Miner's Strike of 1973 also took place very close by, picture of Culross beach very good above as can't see Longannet Power Station Chimney which is visible from road above Balerno.

I cycled across the bridge and turned right earlier this week. Nothing really worth cycling to (other than Aberdour) until past Leven - where there is a lovely farmshop/tea room. All the wee villages past that are worth an explore - as is St. Andrews.
