Cyclist down: Granton Square

    ...about 9 am today. Black Giant road bike, seemed to have been in collision with an Astra. Looked like car had pulled out onto the square in a classic smidsy manoeuvre (seen drivers ploughing straight onto the square from that junction w/out looking more than once before...).

    Ambulance in attendance, cyclist appeared to be walking wounded (on their feet and being gingerly loaded into the ambulance). Hope they're OK. Anyone on here?

    Not me (though I've also had some close ones), but I always approach the Square with some trepidation. When approaching from the east along Lower Granton Rd to get to W Harbour Rd, I cross over onto the path on the north side of the road, avoiding the square. Even then, drivers often come off the square straight into Lochinvar Dr (towards the harbour) with no signals, at speed etc...
