Some time ago, I am sure I posted about bad design/difficulty of fitting lights to read of child trailers - in my case the one from the EBC.

Recently discovered a solution. We'd picked up a set of USB rechargable lights in the last EBC sale, and while the rear light does not fit well on any of our seat posts, it fits perfectly around the frame of the trailer. If you were really concerned, you could put one on each corner, and it would be quite spectacularly well-light.

    How long is the strap?

I have a similar frustration in getting a light fixed high up on the back of the child seat. One option is to use a strap through the gaps for the restraints.

    Thanks in advance.

hankcheif -- is it a copilot seat that goes on a blackburn rack? if so, i can try it and let you know.

Our main solution to light on childseat was using the hole through which the reflector is fitted and fitting a light that had a similar screw fitting. now have an rsp racklight on the rack (when it works), also used a knog light in way you describe. but the knog rubber is not that stretchy and i always worried it wouldcome off. the EBC one is much stretchier.

I tried to order a light for the hamax - theyhave a specially made one - ony to be told it had been discontinued. obviously most parents don't cycle in the evenings? don't see how that is possible in scotland

Yep. Copilot on the blackburn rack.

I tried using the reflector fixing to screw on a light but that didn't even manage one trip before it fell off. Probably down to my bodging skills not being up to much - it's always about this time of year I get excited about a new light and then losing it due to inadequate fixing...

we lost one light on back - when bike was in stairwell, someone unscrewed it - how pathetic. the replacement stayed on for 3 years (and needs nowtobe transferred to the replacement blackburn)

hankchief -- tried it the other day on the top of the seat (ie the hand-grip shaped bit), and it doesn't fit. But it does fit very well on the slightly thinner side gaps (not the ones the straps go through), but the ones for holding the seat. you could have one of each side!

btw, with the light on the reflector bit, you can't attach the light to the metal piece the reflector is on, or it will just break. you have to take that off and screw the bolt for the light through the hole in the seat back. then it should be pretty secure (even if it feels wobbly).

    Thanks for checking.

I have the taxi version of the co-pilot but it looks like you have the Limo version - Can an infant get child seat envy?

On mine the only gaps in the plastic are the strap holes and they are a reasonable distance from the edge of plastic or each other.

I'm sure with copious cable ties something could be bodged - may have to employ a drill if I get really stuck...
