    Football, Fame & Faith

Gavin Peacock (formerly of Chelsea & QPR, latterly BBC pundit) is coming to Earthy Foods (Causewayside) on Wednesday, 31st October (1930-2100), courtesy of Duncan Street Baptist Church".

I believe some here follow the beautiful game, and some frequent Earthy, so thought it might be of interest...

  2. Forget Chelski and QPR, he played for Newcastle!!! Damned good player at that - 'cept I'm at the Hallocross that night :(

  3. He actually moved back to London because his son (I think) was very ill and the specialist care available was in London at the time.

Speaking of faith in football. Newcastle have a new shirt sponsor, which most people involved with supporting the club are unhappy about because it's Wonga.com. The British Muslim Council has apparently told Ba, Cisse, Tiote and Ben Arfa that they would be breaching 'sharia law' (tis how it was reported in the press, presumably to get people frothing that 'sharia law' will become the dominant legal system in the UK) to wear the strip - given their faith doesn't allow people to make money from lending money.

This is all totally OT from the OP, but there you go. Not sure there will be many more fitba posts on here!

Alan pardew has apparently told Newcastle players not to worry about the wonga deal. Just to get out there and give 23,000%
