There were 20 bikes, and three Sheffield stands, when I was at Cramond yesterday.
Have asked Council for more.
The racks at the foot of the walk by the Kirkgate have disappeared as part of the tram/kerb remodelling. Fortunately there's a railing around the war memorial which seems reasonably sturdy.

Racks on McKelvie Parade by the eastern breakwater over-full this morning, so I had to chain up to the information board. Cameron Toll Sheffield racks were full on Friday lunchtime so two children had to start using the low-level stupidracks, empty until then.

You'll no doubt have to push your bike past all the cars manoeuvring on the esplanade to get to the bike racks...

Hi Ed, they're individual wall mounted racks with clamps that can accommodate bicycles and mountain bikes of a maximum of 50 mm width tyres.

Design guidance produced by Historic Environment Scotland's sister agency (Transport Scotland) states:
Cycle stands which only grip the cycle by a wheel (including butterfly racks and concrete slots) are not recommended as they offer only limited security, can cause a trip hazard to pedestrians and can damage wheel rims.

Ironic really as HES have installed Sheffield stands at Holyrood Park. So they know how to do it properly. Must be deliberate. Box ticking exercise. As in, "Look, you have your bike parking, and still you're not happy? Typical bloody cyclists! Now can you just shift your bikes over a bit so the important people in cars can get parked up?"
So are the fools planning to drill holes in the fabric of the historic monument they are entrusted with protecting to install their ‘individual wall mounted racks’?

Far more boringly, it will just be different people in different sites making different decisions, some better informed than others.
St James Centre Edinburgh
I knew from looking at the Planning drawings that there is secure bicycle parking for Staff working in the Centre as well as secure bicycle parking for the Residential properties as these were Planning requirements. but I hadn't spotted any Sheffield racks or similar on the drawings.
So for the first time I had reason to lock my bike up at that end of town so tried parking amongst the 1600 car spaces in the underground Car Park assuming there would be some kind of facility for securing a bike let alone a hand cranked trike. Sadly no there is nothing. So I locked my bike to a railing on level B3 next to some steps leading into the bowels of St James not far from the Secure bicycle storage which as yet is not available for the Staff as its all locked up and in darkness.
I went off and did what I had to do, came back and got my bike and started to head off to the exit ramp but was stopped by a Security guy who said I shouldn't cycle up the ramps "for my safety". So I asked "you want me to use the Lifts?" "No but since you are here that would be the safest way out".
I pointed out the Secure bicycle storage for Staff down here on Basement Level 3. How are staff going to get to the storage area? He didn't know the answer to that so he suggested we go to "Control" and ask. Which we did but Control didn't know the answer either as the Staff bicycle Storage hadn't been handed over from the Contractor to the Owner yet and no one had told them how Staff were to access it or how residents would access their Secure cycle parking which are also in the Basement Car Parking.
Its a very nice dry and quiet Car Park with only a few Customer cars in it with some Builders Vans. Seems a shame you can't park a bike there, particularly on rainy days like the day I was there.
So requirement was to have the secure parking but no requirement for it to be functional
Cycling is really unsafe though? Everybody seems to know that, except for cyclists of course.
As for cycling on ramps, what were you thinking? Should be glad you're still alive mate.
Our company have a meeting booked in at the R*****n B** hotel tomorrow in town. I called the hotel this morning to ask if there were any cycle parking or storage facilities?

Rules for attending hotels:
1) If you have a folding bike, use it and bring it into the venue.
2) If you have a non-folding bike, use it because you can probably bring it into the venue anyway.
@arellcat I was more miffed that there is space dedicated to cars (of course) but not bikes.
Parking a bike all day at Waverley station with a D-lock - risky or safe?
Nothing is certain, of course, but I have left a bike at Waverley for a week or so before without any problems, and wouldn't have any qualms about doing so again.
There are plenty of bike racks on the High Street as well. I think the nearest ones will be those outside John Knox House.
I would have no concerns about locking a bike in Waverley.

At the farmer's market on Saturday, Mr SRD was told he couldn't lock his bike onto the car park railings because the council had designated it a grade 2 listed building.

I continue to park my bike there, despite previously being told that it was a fire hazard by an overzealous car park attendant!
I mean like thousands of cars, each filled with 50 litres of petrol (50,000 litres total!?), aren't a fire hazard? Maybe they should ban cars from parking in their car park if they really cared about fire?
And maybe they should ban cars from listed buildings as well - I mean they're not exactly in keeping. I wonder how many scrapes have been added to the listed building by cars? And how many little "oil deposits" to the flooring?
