Sounds like a cracking idea to me

Can't make it as Mrs M is out that night. The Fountain is quite nice now - but incredibly expensive. £4+ per pint for many beers.

Sounds like a short night then, I am returning from town centre that day so happy to switch to other dens of iniquity in the area where a pint is still less than three quid.
Used to get a lovely pint of mild in either the station or the railway pubs in didsbury for 90p. Ok was twenty years ago

I think I could be tempted in from EL for that.

Have they improved the clientèle of the place since they painted it? It used to have a pretty dreadful reputation.

None of us have been except morningsider or his people. Same owner as carriers quarters in leith. I cycle by and it looks to have many whiskers of dear malt nature

I'd hazard a guess that a four pound pint is a more effective bam-dispersant than a bouncer who is actually a T-Rex.

My boyfriend and I have been in a few times. It is very pleasant and reminds us of the Caley Sample Room. I took my parents there for a meal, too. (That probably says quite a lot...)

Bumpity.
I'm out on the Audax with DaveC the morning after, so I've a 1136ml beer limit, but I'll toddle along.

Sounds like a plan!
I've realised coffee isn't cutting it any more for writing-a-thesis, I need to switch to beer!
I'll need to check minimoth's diary/brain to make sure I'm not supposed to be somewhere else (I'm rarely where I'm supposed to be...)

"I'm rarely where I'm supposed to be..."
Better make sure you're not supposed to be in the pub then!

today!

2 hours to go....

Sorely tempted but sick child at home and 2am stumble home last week means I'm requested and required to be home tonight...

whee! Just finished major bit of work and tidied a million little bits up as well. May be there sooner than 5!

I'm not going to be able to make this after all as it clashes with a trip to Lennoxlove for the Book Festival - Michael Morpurgo. I really should pay more attention to what gets said at the tea table. Hope it goes well though.

Enjoy - although local, I won't be able to come along.

I might be bailing out on this one - not finished work yet :(

looks very jolly. Alas I was the opposite of SRD and was stuck at work. Sorry to have missed it.

"I might be bailing out on this one - not finished work yet :("
work was left unfinished. I figured at 5:30 on a Friday I shouldn't be sitting on my own in the office. :)
Thanks SRD for the pint! It was just what I needed. I'll send you a message (maybe after my thesis is done and I've had time to do some more research) on travel, research and development. Congrats on the project completed!
Also glad to see Uberuce looking well, and has recovered from his canal experience.
Btw, Uberuce: I forgot to ask - did you ever find your glasses? :/
