Seen the adverts on the back of the bus.

I realise they need to be seen to do somthing but how effective are these really. How many Ninjas go out and buy lights having seen these ads? How many serious cyclists wait until this late in the year to need reminded.

Ninja on Marchmont Road yesterday evening seemed to be leaving in the back of an ambulance, with police interviewing witnesses and taking the bike with them. Given that the ambulance was in no rush it was either minor injuries or near fatal. I hope the former.

WITH the clocks about the go back and darker nights looming, Humberside Police are launching a scheme aiming to boost the safety of cyclists on North East Lincolnshire’s roads.

Got a set of clippy-on-to-spokes reflectors from Halfrauds at lunch time (couldn't find at an LBS). £7.99 gets you 36, enough to do every other spoke front and rear on a 32 or 36-hole hub.

Basically just chopped up sections of 3M retroreflective tubing that clips nicely over a spoke. My dad commented on them when I was leaving their house earlier as they caught the streetlight.

mgj... If it was the cyclist down close to 'Toast', I'm not sure it was no lights. Mrs Shuggiet was passing on her bike at the time, and it seems he was SMIDSYd by a right turner. A nurse was on the scene immediately and ambulance called. He was still talking, but hurt... If it wasn't that cyclist, there must have been 2 accidents on Marchmont road yesterday!
