CAKE!

Went along with coxswean. Met Mrs Morningsider, who said I was brave bringing coxswean with me. Saw lots of tempting stuff (Playmobil airliner without a tail, anyone?). Found a perfect 12" wheel bicycle for coxswean (proper Specialized, a real bike rather than a toy), a snip at £45. Found I only had £35. Came home.
Next time check wallet before going...

oh dear. sorry to hear that Greenroofer -- there's a cash point just down the road at Scotmid. I always take my chequebook, and haven't regretted it yet.
@spytfyre - there was a cake shortage,
miraculouslyaverted by arrival of late flying volunteer. (minister would not have crossed out :)Posted 12 years ago # -
@SRD I was acutely conscious of the cashpoint just down the road, and indeed there was a certain amount of indecision and internal debate in the churchyard (home or cashpoint? cashpoint or home?). Trouble was, I didn't think that coxswean would tolerate being loaded into the bikeseat, then unloaded again to go back into the hall to see if the bike was still there.
Also, I wasn't entirely sure that Mrs Greenroofer had approved (or would retrospectively approve) the purchase, and that was rather weighing on my mind too...

Our girls are too old for toys now. Greenroofer I have a Specialized HotRock in the shed which they have grown out of. Alloy 20" wheels, v-brakes, 8 speed grip-shift gears. It's pink; not sure if that's a deal breaker. I'd take £35 for it.

@greenroofer Quite understand all the issues. Sorry I wasn't there to lend you the tenner. At home with lurgy. But let me know if you want to try the small bike we have that we discussed in pub.

Thanks both SRD and Tom.
@Tom - I was actually after a 12" wheel for a three year old, so I think it will take a bit too long for him to 'grow into' your offer.
@SRD Following discussion at Greenroofer Towers, authorisation for any purchase or borrowing of 12" bikes has not been forthcoming, so I shall regretfully decline the offer you would have made had you been there today and the offer you did make when we met.

ahem - I'm sure the Specialized Hotrock went to a good home...

@Greenroofer sorry to hear that. Offer still stands when and if. It's a great wee bike (albeit of no monetary value).

@ Morningsider. I did point it out to Mrs Morningsider, so I'm not surprised to hear that it's gone a (ahem) good home.
