Please be careful of the large pothole on Maybury Rd, south-bound, outside the Shell garage, opposit the casino. I had the misfortune to drop into it last night and damage my wheel.

Do regular cyclists know how long it as been there?

Any advise on claiming for a repair from CEC wold be appreciated.

I go along there fairly regularly but I'm usually filtering so it's not one i've paid much attention to until your post.

It would be helpful if you could see what has been reported to Clarence and when.

Just seen a lorry and digger fixing your pothole.

Looks like they are digging up quite an area around it so here's hoping its a long term fix.

It's definitely being fixed right now, and it looks like a proper fix, rather than a temporary one.

Warning, though - Maybury Road going South is now jammed solid with cars all the way back to Craigs Road as of 20 minutes ago, and is only going to get worse, not least because the Kiwis are playing at Murrayfield in a couple of hours. This is due to the road being down to 1 lane. If you're on a bicycle, though, it's easy to glide past the blockage :)

Don't do that - you'll just annoy all those motorists who think filtering is a crime.

Filtering is still legal though. No-one can declare something illegal simply because they don't like it.

Filtering on Maybury is the highlight of my morning.

Anything overtaking me between Barnton & Craig's Road will usually see me wizz past before the casino. The dark mornings are best as my flashing front lights usually get a widening of the gap.

BTW the queue is back to Barnton and then some.

They were back again this morning, doing more work at the same place. Not sure whether their previous repair was faulty? But it was mayhem again on the road. Alas, this time I was in my car...

Watch out for a recently developed (I presume) pothole opposite the Maybury Casino (but on northbound outside lane) which was causing havoc with motorists yesterday evening, including my daughter who was one of four cars (that I counted - I'm told there were a lot more... AA man was talking >30 over all) that had ground to a halt in/around the Casino car park with dented wheels and/or deflated tyres.

Dread to think what would happen if a cyclist hit the offending crater...
