The racks at the top of Middle Meadow Walk/Teviot Place are scheduled for replacement his weekend?

The two old ones will be replaced by 4 new ones (Stainless Steel Sheffield Extras) at the same time. The new ones have been turned around by about 45 degrees so that cycles are less inclined to roll off down the slope (hopefully).

So don't lock your bikes there over the weekend until the racks look shiny!

I do like an unintentional pun.

Though it may be an uphill struggle to think of any more.

    @WC it's a slippery slope you've started us on...

  4. Well I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill.

You're obviously a "glass half full" kind of person - I was going to go with 'All downhill from here'

(note - third attempt at spelling "downhill")

We don't want to reach some sort of pun dead-lock do we. I wouldn't stand for that.

I can see the beginnings of a slow descent into Glen Pun, followed by a hurtling headlong down into the Anecdotal valley.

  11. Has this thread gone OT? I think I can summit up by saying yes.

Must be getting closer to getting racks on our side of the road at shop and cafe.

Got good car parking on both sides of road - why not bikes?

Can we get one of the old ones?

They will only be for bikes with Gentleman frames...

Or maybe just for cyclists sporting "Wiggo" Mod sideburns?

The solid white line at top of MMW that made the use of the cut-through technically non-regulation has now been burnt off and replaced by dashed line. A painted lane has been put down between the MMW lane and the cut-through and road markings put down too.

Best bit is a white hatched box to stop cars parking right over the dropped kerb and approach to it.

Best bit is actually a special little onroad cycle symbol with arrow.

But it really is fab. Silly that it has taken so long to correct, but really a great improvement.
