Except that was the policy a few years ago, which was partly abandoned because some key roads where just getting too bad.

Bet it won't reduce number of utility trenches.

Council chiefs say if they pressed ahead with the work scheduled for some of the Capital’s busiest roads while construction of the tram line is still under way, it would cause too much congestion for motorists and fuel frustration.

"fuel frustration" - so that's a mix of wasting fuel and wasting time in traffic jams(?)

Short sighted sop to 'the motorist'.

Instead, smaller repair projects in residential areas, which were programmed for future years, will be brought forward.

Cue more nice tarmac in cul de sacs that weren't in bad nick.

Concentrating on the Family Network, no doubt (yeah, right).

They can come and resurface my street (and pavement) any time they like. I'm kind of sick of seeing the cobbles through the tarmac...

Perhaps this will speed along the repair of some of the remaining awesomely bad/dangerous road surface defects on the QBC. Such as the ones a few yards north of the Grange Road traffic lights.

I hope the don't repair the holes in my cul de sac, we happen to live in a cardboard box in a hole in the middle of our road.... and we're glad of it!!!
