Road safety boost as new crossings get green light

No new crossing in Blackhall because:

"One resident feared the noise from the bleeper would hit the sale of their house in future while another said it would lead to tailbacks."

    and also:

"[...] fears that the removal of parking directly outside Blackhall St Columba’s Church would have a negative impact on ceremonies, leaving wedding cars and hearses unable to park."

Bonkers how one person who wants to sel their house can block 100 advocates for a crossing. You'd think a crossing outside your house would be seen as a bonus, not a negative? Having the benefit of it outside your house to use, having people using it during the day, so meaning people loiter outside your house for a minute or so which might deter burglers as its under a watchfull eye of passers by....

Narror minded, in my own view. I don't beleive one desenting voicve should be able to out vote that of the many.

I'm sure kalma will get them in the end. A local school in my home town got a speed check after the new headmaster demanded one. Guess who was first to be caught speeding?

Eh? According to Googol Street View there's a bus lane outside the church anyway. So they're parking in the bus lane then? Typical.

It's a Sunday innit so you can park in the bus lane all you like.

There's a church at the end of our street and Sunday mornings are the worst time in the whole week for cars parked all over the place.
