Not sure whether this will come in handy for anyone on here or not, but I've been keeping an Excel spreadsheet of the 2013 rides (so I could have everything in one place) and thought it might make a useful web page:

    http://mccraw.co.uk/audax-ecosse-calendar13/

One page with a map of each ride and a few details, I find it pretty annoying searching on the official calendar to find things out (especially when maps aren't provided).

I've only done the first third just now (it's a little time-consuming), I'll update the thread when they're all done.

    Feedback welcome :)

Most useful (not that I intend to do any!)

I've strapped the Carradice on the bike, so I've really no excuse now.

OK... still not all done, but at least I'm now well over halfway, and I've got as far as the crashingly superb sounding Deeside Lass (600km, 7750m!):

Arf. Grew up in Forfar and never had the faintest inkling it was such a hub of Audax.

I'll have to clear it with the management of the Hotel MacDonald chain, but I reckon I can berth a couple of folk the night before the ones I'm doing.

    There's a hand I'd bite off!

Which are you doing? Perhaps I could supply a lift...

"More passes than Mastermind" lol, sigh.
The climb up to the top of Lowther Hill is probably the most brutal thing I've ever done on a bicycle.

Hrm. That essentially depends on how many miles and metres-ascending I get in my legs before the entries fill up.

Deeside Loop is probably in my reach already, not sure about the Snow Roads.

I've been pondering the 'Amulree for Tea' but the issue is getting to the start. Nearest train stations Perth, Dundee, Arbroath. That means travelling up the day before and bunking down in the vicinity of Forfar. Did this last year for the 'Potter for Tea' from Kirriemuir but was able to sleep in the hall with the Snow Road crowd (first and only time unless I do the Snow Roads itself one day, no Potter for Tea this year, and likely no room in the hall either).

    Hmmm. Still pondering.
