Headwind/Tailwind conspiracy against me

Seem to have a constant headwind at the moment, I go out west in the morning, come back east and the wind seems to magically turn to meet my face in the middle of the day.

Does that mean all you folk going in East out West have an almost constantly fun cycle? Or has West Lothian Council bribed the wind to help increase it's modal share?

It's not a conspiracy at all. Unusual, nay, paranormal phenomena such as natural double ramped hills and bidirectional opposing headwinds are consistently encountered in the real world, and Stepdoh is merely describing one facet of Newton's 4th law which is linked inextricably with cyclo-mathematics. Conventional relativistic bicycle mechanics is considered under Newton's 1st, 2nd and 3rd laws.

Cyclo-mathematics also extends to motorist behaviour, such as the instance in which the paths of an approaching vehicle and a following vehicle will invariably automatically intersect at the point of cycling, regardless of initial trajectory and speed.

I also seem to have a constant headwind just now, and I go east in the morning and west at night. And all directions during the day.

Hmm. I have been north, south, east and west today and the wind seems to have been where it should although rather stiffer than I would like.

Just wear a tinfoil hat whilst riding and you'll be fine.

I've come to the conclusion the wind is influenced/controlled by the Daily Mail and its readers in an attempt to make any one who doesn't drive do so. How ever if you come across a particularly strong wind it must be the fault of the [insert out group] in front or behind, the Daily Wail is deliberately trying to Impede/send home/kill [delete as appropriate].

At least that's the only reasonable explanation for a stiff wind in both directions today.

Inchcolm is supposed to mean Columba's Isle (tho not felt he ever visited) so if you pray to Columba you might find the wind turns in your favour (other than that, Mary Poppins?)

I like it blowing from east as the downhill bit of my commute cancels out the breeze and the uphill bit blows me home.

Well when it rains tomorrow evening it's all my fault and I accept complete responsibility :-/
I'm taking the MTB to work tomorrow so I can recce a route for the Guides next week, so having no proper mudguards and committing myself to a little gentle off roading virtually guarantees the weather gods a chance to point and laugh!
    Sorry....!

  10. Nope, I'm with stepdoh on this, and I commute in the same directions. Certainly there were a few weeks when it seemed to be constantly headwindy, changing about during the day.

I think I can count the number of commuting days on one hand this year that have been without a headwind in at least one direction. Can we have some settled non-windy days please?

If the weather goblins can ensure constant headwind for all cyclists in all directions, why can't they ensure constant tailwinds for all cyclists in all directions?

Yep, don't anger the weather goblins.

I had a [expletive deleted]-ing huge headwind home and my seatbolt snapped.

Think that was a message. 8-/

Going for a wee lie down.
