Any think these will cause any problems on the mtb?
    Michelin Wild Run'r

I'm currently running Nimbus III on my mtb their tread pattern is specifically designed to gather water from the atmosphere and project it into a curtain for the rider to constantly ride through. Despite being 15 years old and done huge mileage they're still in good nick but the tread pattern has irked me for the last time!

They've less tread than a Gatorskin by the looks of it!

I hear they're nice tyres, but they'll drop your BB quite a lot. (you'll be an inch closer to the ground)

There's a constant what-tyres debate going on in bike-polo circles in brief the consensus seems to be that the best for feel and stickiness are gatorskins but are only available in tiny sizes so not suitable for all bikes.

Next favourite are schwalbe Kojak's. The Kojak's being available in the larger 2" sizes (preserves the handling of your bike if you use a similar size tyre to the knobbly taken off)

    From my own experience:

Conti Sport Contact are beautifully puncture proof and provide a lot of grip.

Schwalbe city Jet's are very puncture proof slightly less grip than the conti's but wear better.

Specialized nimbus tyres are dry tyres only, wear well and very puncture-proof but lose all grip in the wet.

Halo twin-rail are dangerous in all conditions and should be avoided at all costs. I've never experienced a tyre with less grip in my life.

    Nope good post very interesting.

I'm now wondering it the city jets would produce the spray curtain I'm spending money to avoid, they do have a slight pattern.

I have Nimbi on the sparebike and have very dry feet. 35mm with SKS 45 guards. Are your splattery ones mounted the correct way round so that the doping does what it's supposed to do?

Can't get guards to fit which is the biggest problem.

I'm not sure they're directional tbh, the moisture gathering pattern is mirrored on each side of the centre line, I think it projects a curtain towards my feet equal to the vertical one, I just don't see it.

How did you find the Schwalbe Marathons on my tractor? I've no basis for comparison since the only tyres I've known on that bike are the old knobblies it came with.

@steveo it sounds like it's the lack of guards and not the tyres that are to blame. I'm sure the panel could suggest you a guarding solution.
